KYB Shocks/Struts.. Do I need anything else?
Do I need the strut boots and/or the shock mounting kits or anything like that? Just trying to replace my stock parts now. Any and all help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Tommy

I would definitely replace the mounts/bearings. As for the boots, I mean, if yours are shredded then sure, you may as well replace them too. Some people have had longevity issues with the KYB mounts, so you may want to opt for OEM parts. While they have everything taken apart, have them check your swaybar endlinks and bushings. Mine are shot in the front, at times it sounds like I have a jug of marbles under the hood.
Not sure about the Progress RSB.

Thanks for the heads up Crime... So what your saying is that I should go ahead and get OEM parts and replace as they (my mechanic) will be going in there anyway. I don't know much about working on cars at all so typically at the mercy of my mechanic. He seems pretty honest though and has saved me money in the past on stuff I didn't need.

Well, the KYB struts will be fine (I'm running those myself, although they are slightly more harsh/stiff than stock). The only issues that people have had seem to be with the KYB mounts. I used KYB mounts as well, and my Pass. side mount began to make noise again about 1 year after they were replaced. Will try the OEM mounts the next time around.
Let us know what you decide and what the outcome is.

I would replace the mounts too. Go with oem mounts or moog don't get kyb mounts the kyb struts and shocks are good just a little stiffer than stock been on mine for 2 yrs now with no problems and my car is lowered on tein springs the progress rsb is very nice too

Stay away from KYB front strut bearings, they will start producing noise during turns in a week or two. Use OEM bearings!
Also stay away from KYB rear shocks, they tend to clunk when going over curbs and in and out of driveways. You can put Monroe's instead, which will perform just fine.

I've had to replace my front wheel bearings and mounts every 2 to 3 years due to the terrible roads up here in Canada. I havn't any issues with any of the KYB GR2s front or rear however I've had to replace a front one and a rear one under warranty because they were defective so it's just a matter of luck I guess. So far this year no problems....except for a bit of noise from the Eiback Pro Kit 1 springs when turning the steering wheel. I use stock bearings and plates....IMHO better than others. As I said I had the top bearings and gasket replaced in the spring and so far so good. The rubber isolators can also be replaced. Knowing what I know now about lowering...Not sure I would do it again on our roads. Too harsh. too many speed bumps everywhere. Always scraping the bottom in the middle or over high curbs scrapping the splash guards...Oh well at least it looks good lowered! My tire dealer made a mistake and put on 245/40/18s ZR instead of 245/45s and the extra <.4 of an inch shows the gap a bit more now too...
