2004 SL... what's it worth?
I have an 04 SL with NAV with 111,000 miles. What do you think is a good price for private party and trade in? It's stock... no mods in good shape with new tires and all recent maintenance done.

Find a similar car on autotrader or cars.com . Otherwise Edmunds TMV isn't too bad

$8,000 in fair condition needing brakes/tires/oil
$8,500 in fair condition
$9,000 in good condition
$9,500 in excellent condition
$9,995 is where you should start the price
part of selling a car is the smell, and shine, if you still have the new car smell then keep it, if not go get it. go get some leather conditioner and lather away. Honestly i would spend the 300 bucks getting a professional detail. You will more than get your money back and make selling the car much easier. People who buy second hand private party are looking for something that looks like a brand new car off the dealer lot.... lol the more it looks like one the better. The mileage and year doesn't matter as much if your car is pristine and drive well. when i went looking for my first car with 12k in my pocket, i went to a few places and a couple of times the owner would open up his garage and i would see dust on the car, smears on the windshield, and a fast food cup still in the cupholder and napkins in the rear seat ect... I said im not interested and walked away without even sticking my head in the car or lifting the hood.

$6500...that's it. Don't offer any more...he would be lucky to get that!
There is an 04 for sale where I live and it only has 100k miles on it.

I agree man. Get a proper apraisal. How long you keep it will entirely depend on the condition and price listed. Everyone wants a deal so if you have the patience list it for whatever you feel it's worth and gradually start reducing it until you get it sold.

I am in market now and I have seen anywhere from $4500-12K, so like some have said its the condition of the car that makes the higher price(i.e interior and exterior wear, maintence history receipts). I would rather buy a car with 100k+ miles with all maintence history and interior exterior in near perfect condiiton, than a 50K mile vehicle with no history, and bald tires, stains in the interior. Thats my 2cents. Location will be a big part also cause here in San Deigo prices vary low but in Memphis its pretty high. Dont know why but your location is a big part. Good Luck though on basing your price. I use KBB alot though but use what local classified are selling also.
