2007 Nissan Maxima wont start on first try

2007 Nissan Maxima wont start on first try
Hello to all members
Need your help with this as I see it maybe a common issue.
( have 93,000 miles cvt trans)
Battery and starter are in working order tested. check out ok
cranks strong but wont always start on first try 2nd or 3rd try will start up and drive fine. ( No check engine light)
Items/ parts that have been replaced ( all oem parts from Nissan dealership)
1)- fuel pump and fuel pump relay
2)- both camshaft sensors along with the cranks shaft sensor
3)- transistor/receiver not sure what the correct name for it is
but goes mounted to the igniton switch.
4)- coolant temp sensor.
So I took it in to the stealership to get it checked out and they said Bad fuel pump so I showed them the recipt for the pump I had bought a week ago...Stealership Oh it must be defective.. Here we go..
so I had them change it agin no charge for part but $90.00 labor
Guess what STILL have the same issue.
stealership is at a loss as there is no check engine light on.
stealership gave me a gift certificate for 3 oil changes for the $90.00
I paid on there labor to get the pump replaced.
LOL mighty kind of them ..
Still having the same issue Please HELP>>>>>
BTW my friends 05 Nissan Quest is doing the Same thing..
any input or leads on what to try next???

I'm having the same problem with my 08 Maxima, never starts on first crank and always does on the second. I've checked the battery and starter everything was good. I have the turn to start, could it be a faulty sensor possibly? Any advice would be helpful guys, I'm a complete newbie when it comes to cars btw.

I understand that a weak battery in the remote fob could slow a start...I'll know today if that really is the case. Had a laundry list of things done, that's one of the things the guy told me on the phone could cause the slow starts, and that my bat and starter are fine. I also have a grounding kit installed.

still wont start on first try Heeelp
ok did the throttle cleanning and still same issue. so now I'm going to check and clean the engine grounding cables. heard that might be a issue
i'm running out of ideas...

went to my local nissan dealership and they stated fuel pump on my earlier posted it was changed by them agin still same issue might have to bite the bullet and drive it about a hour away to another dealership maybe they could figure it out but trying to avoid this right now but might be my last resorce.

Ok Car has been at the dealership for 2 days now and they can figure it out they have gotten the car to dulicate the problem only 2 time go figure
after letting it sit over night. im up to $90.00 as of right now for diagonise and they want me to approve another hour at $90.00 how much is going to cost me anyone out there with more pointers as to what to look for???

2nd that. It appears the OP has only tested the battery without actually try on a fresh one.
This exact situation has happened to me twice over the years with my 2004. Every time, I knew my battery had started to go bad. I just took out the battery to the store-chain where I bought it. I just told them that my car broke down and I had it jump-started earlier and my car was on the side of the road --> to avoid being told it tested "fine". My car would start up fine with the new battery, every single time.
On my Murano, it's a different story --> it came straight to the point where it wouldn't start, period. Between the two cars, I would run into a battery issue every two years. I would buy a battery at a good store-chain with the longest warranty (72-86months). It appears battery can't last >5yrs on Nissan cars. For me it's even shorter (2-3yrs). However, I remember only replace the battery once on my 99Pathfinder.

theres no issues with it..Its only 2 months old.
I had thought that was the original issue but I was wrong.

Update on no start on first try
Ok heres what I have discovered..
if I open up the ignition and turn it back off and then start it up
it fires right up.
fuel pump priming issue ??? or ecu not getting a signal.
going to try to find a shop that will do a bleed down test to see if its fuel pump related??? or is a fuel injector leaking ????
any input is welcomed.

well here the update nothing else was done to it but its been starting up fine for weeks now......hope this is the end of that (finger's crossed')

my 04 is doing the same thing, I have 80,000 miles. I always used regular gas but just started using premium gas and I believe its stating up a little better but still dosnt crank on 1st try sometimes. I have not tried changing fuel pump yet but I will if problem gets worse.

Problems starting once the car is warm
I have taken my car to a number of different people to try and fix my 2007 Maxima's starting problems.
The car has no problems starting when it is cold but once it has been driven and warmed up the problem starts. Once you shut it off and leave it for 15 to 20 minutes it fails to restart on the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd tries. It acts like it is not getting fuel but a gauge to measure pressure was added and the gauge ruled out the fuel pump but little else was learned.
I have had the problem almost from the day I pulled off the showroom floor but was told I had picked up bad gas and to use half a tank and fill it with good gas. It seemed to work for a couple of months but it happened again so I retried the half tank and it seemed to fix the issue again.
The dealer replaced the battery and that didn't fix the issue but the battery was defective and blew up a year later - replaced the battery but fuel issue continues. Dealer asked that I leave the car until it does it with them - no codes.
Please someone give me an idea where to go from here - the shuttering is staying longer after starting and it is taking more tries each time to get it started. The car only has 51,000 miles.

My 07 Maxima was doing same. Replaced both cam position sensors. Even Sea Foamed it (which helped with response of throttle and quite the engine) but it was bad cam sensor connector, bought the harness for $36 and replaced it to my bank 1. Boom fires right up. Harness is Engine Sub Harness

I have a 2007 maxima and I am facing the same problem. After sitting for sometime it takes two tries for the car to start up. I don't know where to begin. I have a new battery and had it tested. One thing I can tell you is that if you turn the key on but just before you fire it up... let it sit for about 4-5 seconds and then turn it all the way on. It'll fire up a lot easier. It has to do something with priming of the fuel

I fixed my problem last night.
I should mention that my car did not have a check engine light on. It just had problems starting kind of like how tallblazer124 did. I went to the car parts store last night and i got a camshaft position sensor for $65. I replaced just the front one the one closest to the radiator (bank 2) and that did the trick. Now fires up like brand new.

One thing I can tell you is that if you turn the key on but just before you fire it up... let it sit for about 4-5 seconds and then turn it all the way on. It'll fire up a lot easier. It has to do something with priming of the fuel
