How to identify type if headlight

I have an 07 SE and the left headlight appears to be dying (the light is brownish as opposed to the bright white in the right light). I've seen the posts on how to replace the bulb (wheel well method seems pretty easy). But I don't know if I have halogen or HID lights. How can I tell? There was a post for the '06 that said to look on the lens, but mine only says "Nissan". Thanks in advance.

HID have to warm up, whereas halogens are instant. Look at a you-tube video if you are still unclear about what you have.

You'll see the different as soon as you turn on your headlight and from you post you said it's dying or dull on one side so I'm thinking halogen. Converting to HID is always a good option with kits at it's cheapest, Japanese or German HID kits is always your best bet. 8000K works really good.

Thanks for the replies. They are HID. There's a sticker in the engine compartment warning about xenon headlights. Plus, they have the circular lens inside. Going to order a new bulb now.

It sounds like you have aftermarket hids. Aftermarket and oem hids are totally different in price and performance.

That's possible but I don't know. I bought the car from a dealer but it was used. It does have the "Xenon headlights" warning sticker inside the engine compartment that I saw on other posts. Is that a Nissan-exclusive, or would aftermarket HIDs have that sticker too? I guess I could replace both bulbs with Philips OEMs, assuming they would be compatible with an aftermarket kit (if that is indeed what I have). Thanks again.
