Engine rattling noise over 30mph
 

Hey guys,
About two weeks ago I noticed a very strange noise coming from my engine bay. I only hear it when I'm going over 30mph though. I can't tell where it's coming from since the only time I can hear it is when I'm driving the car.

The rattling is very inconsistent... it is not the same tone/pitch at all times. Sometimes it's louder than others and sometimes it's quiet but it never shuts up.

Does anyone have an idea of what it could be?

I was told that my serpentine belt is fraying, could it be possible that is what's causing the noise?

I found out the problem. One of the bolts that keeps the plastic engine cover down came out. I found a bolt of the same size and now the noise is completely gone. :)

would it be possible for you to post the pic.
i am also having the same problem and took it to several machanic but they couldnt find the correct issue. they giving me different part to replace.
some said " timing chain " or tensior.
some said " exchaust" or heat shield

Same problem here too except on my 03. The cover's plastic snaps are worn so bad that they are no longer tight. I started using bolts and nuts as replacements.

can you guys please show the pic which part needs to check?
i am having the same issue and not able to find the solution.
