Rear Brake Slider Pin Issues (HELP!!)

( Guide Pins Stuck - Please Help )
Hello, I was trying to change my rear brakes today because the guide pins are sticking causing my brakes to always be pressing onto the rotor. I first noticed this about a month ago. Anyways today I took to a guy who could not get the pins out and refused to take the torch to it.. He's telling me to cut through the bolts and buy new calipers..

I honestly believe that with the torch and some well spend time I can get the pins out and put the new ones in without having to spend money on new calipers..

So am I wrong? or is this guy just a jerk and want's to take the easy (more labour) Road...

thanks

You can rear calipers for 40 bucks and the mountain assembly cheap too. If you are going to hold on to the car I would invest the labor or do it myself.

I never liked the torch. Especially that close to rubber. If they are that frozen I would replace everything.

Hello!

Thank you for your reply!!

So I was able to gently torch and hammer gently where the bolts are on the rear calipers, (About 10 seconds and then hammer a bit) It made it so easy to get the seized bolts out! Replaced the slider pins, pads!

My pads were down to the last few MM'S and I didn't want the worm gear to come out and get stuck and have to absolutely buy new calipers!!

It all worked out! just some info incase anyone else look into this in the future!
