Having a hard time connecting Scanmaster software to VQ35DE ECU
When I connect the ELM327 OBDII scanner to my Honda's J35A9 ECU, the Scanmaster software connects as soon as I click the button. But when I connect to Nissan's VQ35DE ECU, it never connects right away.
When I first bought the scanner, I just kept trying to connect, and it worked after about 20 times. Then I tried again and it never connected. Somehow I figured that hitting "Connect", getting NO DATA error, then shutting off the engine and turning ignition completely off, clicking "Connect" again and getting UNABLE TO CONNECT error this time, then turning ignition back on, I am able to connect. But is that normal? Does anyone else use ELM327 based scanner with Scanmaster and know how to connect w/o shutting the engine off?
