07 Maxima 3.5 Engine Oil

All engines have there own oil tastes. And this is my first Nissan since a '74 Datsun Pickup. What oil does this engine prefer.

5W-30 API SN rated motor oil, Conventional. Semi-Synthetic, or full Synthetic.

Any major brand will do, as the API rating of SN is what you are looking for.

Check your oil on a regular basis, and change oil and filter as outlined in your owner's manual.

I have been using 5W-30 Mobil 1 fully synthetic oil in my 04 maxima. Keep a close eye on the oil level since these maximas are known to consume/leak. My oil level is low after only 800/1000 miles after filling up the oil level.

Same here. I use 5-30 mobil 1 full synthetic on my 06. Since my last oil change, I saw it was low about 1/2 a quart after a little over 1200, so I would definitely keep an eye out for the oil level with these cars.

Does not matter as your cylinders, pistons and rings will outlast the electric, suspension and body by a factor of 2x. I use high mileage Valvoline Maxlife after 100k miles and that helps to have no leaks. Otherwise it is a matter of taste and budget.
