Passenger side vents have no air flow.

The passenger side air vents for my 2007 maxima have a very weak airflow moving through them. The vent to the far left on the driver side, however, works fine. Everything else with the a/c system seems completely normal. All the controls do what they're supposed to and the heat/cold settings work well. I'm assuming I will have to take apart the dash to look and see whether or not the connections for the vents are all in place. I think this is most likely the issue but I have absolutely no idea how to take apart the dash to get to the vent system to check. please help!

Airflow

I recently had to dismantle my central vents because the airflow blocker doors were broke. Was a very quick and simple fix, but you are strictly talking about the lone passenger vent correct?

Ok

Alright. Well, I can explain to you how to get the center vents out (2008) because I just did this...might be slightly different for other models in this Gen. (YouTube is also an excellent source)

This is also for an automatic.

Car off/parking brake on - and battery disconnected suggested.

1. Under the shifter ****, there is (in my case) a chrome piece you will pull down. After pulling it down, there will be a clip just under the **** that was concealed but now visible. Remove this clip and the shifter **** will pull straight up and off.

2. Gently pry up on the center trim that surrounds your shifter and remove it. There is one connector for the lighting on the shifter display that you can remove to take the whole trim out of the way. After trim removal, there is a button you can push that will allow you to reposition your shifter if need be.

3. Under your FWD Center console there will now be 2 screws tucked under it that secures the FWD Center Console Trim and AC Vents. Remove these 2 screws and gently pry along the trim to pull back the trim. There is a plug that I believe has something to do with the airbag system. The video I watched suggested not disconnecting, but if you do - do not turn the key to ACCY or ON position until it is reconnected.

After you pull back this trim it is pretty straight forward. It's about a 5-10 min job to get it apart and same going back together.

The trim panels can be cumbersome to pry off, so try not to damage them during the removal.

I hope this helps.

Air vent issue bothered me so bad! All I could hear was that "vent closed noise". Park in the sun light so it beams down the vent that's closed. Get you a pencil and go right to left or left to right until you finally catch one of the blades and work it open. It was my toddlers slamming that little plastic wheel open and closed constantly that it finally disconnected from the wheel.
NOW the back seat tiny vents aren't good for s**t! I have a trickle coming out of them!
