Caliper install, no fluid

I have a 2006 Maxima and I have a sticky caliper on the front passenger side. So last night I pick mine up at thepicked mine up. And the Piston moved freely back and forth with little effort. And as I pushed the piston and lots of fluid came out. So I put it on my car and for some reason now there is no fluid coming from the brake line into the caliper and I opened up the bleeding screw and nothing comes out and I even took the brake line off the back of the caliper again and still nothing came out of that. I've never had a problem like this before and any help would be appreciated. Thank you

One more thing

I forgot to mention that the break pedal goes completely to the floor with no pressure whatsoever. I must have bumped it a hundred times and still no pressure on the panel and no fluid coming out of the brake line whether it's attached to the caliper or not

You were putting fluid into the master cylinder under the hood every time you pumped it right???

Man I hope so, because if you drained it dry, you've got air throughout your entire hydraulic system....going to have to do a full bleed. A dealership or Firestone/tire place can do it much easer because they can put the system under pressure and force fluid in and out of all 4 corners at once. If you did drain the MC dry, I'd suggest you get this assembled, and then towed to a place you trust. Get them to do a bleed/fluid flush on the brake hydrolic. Normally runs around $100 or so, but because you have air, they may need more time/labor.

So let's rewind: you got a u-pull it used caliper, compressed the piston, saw the brake fluid coming out of the hole on the back, but when you installed, fluid did not flow from the line into the caliper?

Solved

The fluid was coming out of the line where I cut it when I took it off the donor car. I left the car to sit all night and I checked it here at lunchtime about half an hour ago and everything work great lots of fluid came out of the caliper when I had somebody pump it so I closed the bleeder valve mid pump, lots of brake fluid and lots of pedal power. Now I just have to put it back together and it's good to go. Thank you to everyone for your help.

You just had tons of air in the lines and now you finally pumped this air out.

I don't know how this "corrected itself". But if you feel safe on the road, good on ya, just don't kill anyone if you're brakes die out again.

I think what's missing here is it sounded like you had limited experiencing working on hydraulic systems to begin with, then chalk it up to "working just fine" but you never explained what actually resolved the problem.

Again, if you wanted to get your fluid flushed out, that would be great peace of mind. That fluid needs to be swapped out every 3 years anyway, so if you've never done it, get-er-done...

Thanks

I have done plenty of brake jobs over the years and never had this problem before. I think it just needed to sit for a while with the bleeder open to let out the air trapped in there. I will definitely get everything flushed because I've only had this car for about 6 months and I don't know the history of it so it's probably a good idea to get that done. As well I will probably take it to the dealer and get the transmission fluid changed.
