2004 Blower motor intermediately working

Hello everyone,
I'm on the east coast for work and the wife is home on the west coast.

Wife calls me and tells me the fan is not working and she wants AC. She tells me the fan comes on delayed or not at all. When it does come on it is not at the speed setting that she has it at. If it is on high or most any other setting. The fan runs on low. I have someone back home that can change Parts, but diagnostic skills is not much. Any idea where one might start.

Guess will have to wait for another 2 weeks.

most often the blower motor working on a single speed is related to the blower motor resistor, it could be the case but usually when the resistor eats it the blower motor only runs on high speed but doesnt do anything on low speeds

probably the best thing if you want to properly diagnose is look at the blower motor itself and see if the connector is melted, if it isnt you can remove the blower motor and jump power to the connector to see if it comes on. if it doesnt hesitate, likely the blower motor isnt faulty. from there its basically either broken wiring (not likely), faulty switch (not really likely but eh) or the blower motor resistor is on its way out which is the most probably

if you want to toss a dart, you can get a blower motor resistor for $2 at a junkyard and swap it in to see if that fixes it. otherwise maybe wait and see what other people say as its been a while since ive worked on a 6th gen

How does one get the factors motor out of the housing?
