Power Steering Fluid
2005 Maxima SE - all stock setup. I drove over some huge bumps (mountains of snow and ice... thanks Canada apparently we don't plow roads anymore...) and now my car is whining like crazy when I turn the steering wheel.
Before I take it in to be checked, can I use any ol power steering fluid or should I use Nissan OEM brand. Thoughts? Note, I replaced my p/s high pressure hose with an aftermarket 2 years ago. I should have went OEM when I did that as it lightly whined ever since in general not just when turning. But I got used to it I guess. Lets hope its not the hose again =/ |
Look at your owners manual ... the fluid type is listed. Typically, it’s Dexron III, but confirm via the manual. |
I’ve heard many times that most aftermarket ps lines give out after a few years. With that said,I use Lucas ps fluid. Works fine for me
