Trying to get the right parts
Hello
I have a 2004 nissan maxima with a P1800 code. I did some googling and I think what I need to replace is the VIAS Solenoid? Are these the right ones to get? https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...solenoid,10776 also I need to get some push in rivets, and I was wondering which size I should get https://www.rockauto.com/en/tools/ha...h-in+rivet,206 Thanks for the help |
I have had these solenoids apart. They are very simple devices and consist only of a few parts. If it were me, I wouldn't hesitate to go aftermarket ebay with one:

I'd just take apart the old one, clean it, repair if possible, test it and reinstall it. They really are that simple. You may find the solenoid is fine and you have a vacuum issue. You may also find instead that you have a voltage/lack thereof with the harness that controls it. Another option is to go to an LKQ or similar yard and pull the part yourself. Anything to avoid paying an exorbitant amount for such a simple, old part. Save that cash for a Tiffany watch or something. |
