Brake lights don't turn off, cruise control intermittent problem

Started with cruise control randomly turning off. Noticed brake lights are on when I go out to the car in the morning and randomly turning on when driving and not turning off. pulling up on the brake pedal gets them to turn off.

The car also wont accelerate on the highway unless I switch to manual mode and downshift it myself, but this is intermittent.

Seems like the pedal isn't fully returning to its original position since it's triggering the brake switch and cruise control switch. Is there a way to adjust where the brake pedal returns to, or with how much force the pedal pushes up with? Or to possible adjust the sensors so they don't engage until more force is applied?

Thanks

Replace the stoppers.

Does the brake pedal return spring sag at all?

Isn't there a switch at the travel end that works the circuits for lights and cruise?

The battery died and I just got it jumped this morning.

Yes there's 2 switches. I didn't see anywhere a stopper would go so I decided to get a new brake light switch.

While installing the new switch I realized that it is adjustable.

Half of the switch is threaded. half a turn counter clockwise releases it, just push it in slightly more so the end makes better contact with the pedal arm, and then half turn clockwise to lock it into place.
