Cheap crankshaft and camshaft sensors from eBay, Amazon or rockauto can be a hit and miss from a longevity perspective. I actually use them myself. I had the same experience as you in that new cheap sensors died within a week or two. However, I also had ones that lasted a good 3 years. So it is unpredictable.

My philosophy about cheap parts: if it is way more less expensive than OEM, if the part is easily replaced and if it is my car, I do go the cheap route. I just keep an extra sensor on hand in my garage in case the part fails prematurely.

However, if it is not my car, the part is difficult to replace and / or price is only slightly cheaper than OEM, I just buy OEM and avoid the headaches. My 2 cents of advice.

Maybe you can help me with my other questions
as you see in pics I have 2 connectors that have no other connectors around so is it possible that some just don’t get used

Very strange. My car is a 2003 and I do not have unused plugs. I'll let other chime in to see if they have the same issue.

Just find it weird I would assume something goes to them but there’s no other ends anywhere
