SEmy2K2go 03-14-2008 04:42 PM

I like the wheels, but :noes: at teh rotar size.

!PrjctMax! 03-14-2008 05:20 PM

I wonder if the ****ty chrome roof strips have been fixed along with the alignment of the rear end panels.

NismoMax80 03-14-2008 05:24 PM

uh oh those look like the wheels on the spy photo... i like the tail. but rear looks very similar for some reason...

irish44j 03-14-2008 05:46 PM

please tell me they're not going to try and put the 4DSC logo back on the maxima, ugh. Seems like sacrilege to call this bloated pig a 4DSC.....

Put it on the Alti SE-R, if anything......

irish44j 03-14-2008 05:46 PM

I see that factory tires are just as bad as always...

playboi21617 03-14-2008 05:53 PM

the 4DSC STICKER IS BACK I NEED THAT

bigpulve+ 03-14-2008 05:53 PM

If this is going to have the 4dsc sticker is better be one....

Damn you josh...

irish44j 03-14-2008 06:07 PM

If this car ends up weighing over 3500lbs and they put that sticker on it, I will PISS ON IT the first time I see one in a parking lot.

ok, not really. But I'll WANT to piss on it...

Dynasty47x1 03-14-2008 06:13 PM

It still looks a little big to be a 4dsc and i hate to say it but the back end from that side shot
http://images.autotrader.com/images/..._A.565x418.jpg
looks a little honda-ish:( Cant tell until we get a full shot. But Dual Exhaust ofcourse.

It will be over 3500lbs. We can only hope it will also have a 400hp VK and have a 6 speed MANUAL tranny driving the rear wheels.

Also that those are the rear rotors :ugh:

maxx0831 03-14-2008 06:31 PM

cant wait to see this

Uptown Maxima 03-14-2008 06:43 PM

Well, at leaset they didn't bring the Badyear RSA's over but that rotor size does look kinda suspect...

I concur... But lets wait and see how this plays out

MrGone 03-14-2008 06:56 PM

the tails also look the same from the spy photo :)

STARR 03-14-2008 07:56 PM

Brakes look deceiving, they blacked them out plus they look like the rear rotors

anyone notice that those headlights look just like the retarded-looking headlights supposedly on the new Z?

BOOOOOOOOOOO!

I can also hope that I have a threesome with Heidi Klum, Elle MacPhereson, and Naomi Campbell, which is probably more likely than what you posted

I think it will be more like a 300-hp transverse-mounted VQ37 (?) with a CVT. And, of course, no LSD.

bigpulve+ 03-14-2008 08:20 PM

I see they kept the huge mather fawking *** of the 6th gen...:(

Is it me or should they raise that wheel well...:hide:

they blacked them out so you couldn't see that the brakes are just normal old single-piston tricks.

see photo of the spy shot - road test vehicles would certainly be using the same brakes as the production version, since they need to road test the production brakes...

Yup! Look like Potenza RE40s to me! You guys thought Potenza RE92s were bad on 5th gens. Try RE40s on a RWD car. Needless to say, that was my very first mod for the Z.

NYPD-Arnold 03-14-2008 08:42 PM

I'm desperately looking at evidence of AWD: judging by the lack of kicked up snow on the rear of the car, I'm going to say that the car is still FWD, seeing as how there's a bunch of it on the door. =(

Jess 03-14-2008 08:58 PM

Cool shots. But damn it I will take those 4DSC stickers off that car because it doesn't belong lol.

I don't know all the details of the car but if it has independent rear suspension, variable camshaft/valvetrain timing, a variable intake and other goodies I'd like to drive one. All cars are getting heavier, to complain about just one car is ridiculous.

I'm glad Nissan going back to the 4DSC marketing, I thought it was clever, fun, and really portrayed what the car was. Back when they first introduced the Maxima it was levels above the competition (namely the Accord and Camry). The 3rd gen had a lot more room inside, was laid out better, and the power, handling, and technology of the car was miles ahead.

Everyone always seems to complain when a new model comes out. 4th gen is bubbly, 5th gen even more so, 6th gen is a boat, blah blah blah. If you really want to complain about it I recommend driving a 3rd generation Maxima, then driving a 5th gen. Realize the same complaints you have were expressed 8 years ago, and they are not exclusive to the Maxima. Cars are growing bigger and more powerful, they are getting heavier and they are becoming safer.

Jeff92se 03-14-2008 11:04 PM

Gone = correct. Looks like they are going for a more angular look. Which is a good thing.

lightonthehill 03-15-2008 12:18 AM

Gone is right as usual. Most vehicles gradually grow larger, heavier and more powerful over time.

Having owned several early generation Maximas, as much as I loved them, I yearned for more room inside. Gradually, each generation has given us a tad more room. I feel the room in my 5th and 6th generation Maximas is just about right.

Those wanting RWD need to dig deeper into their pockets and slide over to Infiniti. Those longing to return to the 'under 3500 pound and smaller' vehicle need to test-drive smaller vehicles such as the top-rated 3.5 Altima, or the (gulp!) Accord or (ouch!) Camry.

If all the wishes of all the posters here were to be granted, the new Maxima would be a strange and convoluted concoction costing over $100,000 and would please nobody. Call me Pollyanna, but I am very excited about the 7th generation Maxima.

Qbridg3 03-15-2008 12:19 AM

3500lbs and FWD. **** it.

DanNY 03-15-2008 07:11 AM

irish..you're never going to be happy with the maxima no matter what nissan does to it.

the ones that are complaining about the FWD...you're on maxima.org...the maxima has ALWAYS been FWD since the 2nd gen. if you want a RWD sports sedan then a maxima is not it. you might be happier in a G35 or M35 with a higher price.

it's like complaining to honda that they won't slap a turbo charged V6 awd in their civics. it's just not marketed or built that way.

STARR 03-15-2008 07:32 AM

The Teaser pics say 3-19, just realized that is Wednesday:D I can only hope that Nissan did something to bring back the 4DSC, that edge they use to have:cool:

I'd be more than happy with AWD. I know RWD will never happen.

You should call Nissan and give them some of your design imput from your car.
