I got my 2010 SV+Premium+Nav at the end of June. I paid $33,775. The first price they gave me was $500 more than that. Between the "dealer fee" and the "appearance package" (stuff I didn't really want, although I can live with the spoiler), I felt like I needed something off to feel good about the deal. As far as I can tell, it has every available option. I did opt for a warranty extension up to 60 months/60K miles, which was about $675 and seemed like a good deal.

This morning, my local Nissan dealer (not where I bought my Max) has an ad on the bottom of the front page claiming: "2010 MAXIMA SALE! WAS OVER $38,000 NOW ONLY $25,995 ONLY 4 LEFT AT THIS PRICE"

I'm dying to know if this price applies to any of the four SV's that their website (and also Nissan's website) indicates, two of which are Premium+Nav. They don't list any others besides these four SV's. Yet I find it impossible to believe that they could discount the "loaded" ones -- they were marked $42K when I looked at them a month ago. I'm thining they must have brought in some new cars to "price lead." Yeah, I could call, but I have better things to do than drive myself crazy. Like typing this post, right? Has anybody else seen "deals" like this in the last few days, and what did the cars turn out to be in terms of options?

I too keep checking up on the "deals", like I paid $33K for a SV with Cold and Tech package in January! Right now you're finding people getting full loaded (SV's with Tech/Premium and or Sport packages) for less than that!! I guess hindsight is nice but knowing how much better deal you could have gotten is difficult to swallow.

You ask a great question -- what really is the price, when we discuss it on this thread? I had to look at my numbers again. I can see that the dealer fee was AFTER the price. But I was surprised to see that the "appearance pkg." was also after what I thought the price was. On the other hand, they took off the amount on the sticker for the spoiler. It's always a game to some extent or another... Certainly tax, tag, etc. was after the price. Am I making sense? I also opted for an extended warranty. $38,350 was the entire amount -- sales tax, fees, tag, extended warranty.

Would I be smart to buy a 2009 premium package maxima thats not certified or am I asking for trouble. How important is it for a used car to be certified?

So, I go to the dealer to look at an 09 with 24k miles. The window says $27,999, they guy won't give me a bottomline price but asks me a ton of questions about financing and trades etc, so I basically walk. I get back to work and find this in my inbox for a 2010 SV base level.

"I understand you are looking for a 2010 Nissan Maxima 3.5sv. We do have that model available!

Year 2010
Model Maxima
Trim Level 3.5sv
MSRP $34,250
Internet Discount $5,624
Sale Price $28,626"

Is this a good price? Any suggestions on what to offer on the 09?

Does anyone know if the $1750 is only for a purchase? Looking at a lease and the dealer is telling me there is only $1000 rebate for lease. This is the offer. Not happy with it.

Thank you for inquiring about the 2010 Maxima SV - Premium. As per your request I have gone ahead and worked the following lease numbers: $463/mo.

Money Down: $463
Annual Mileage: 15,000
Lease Term: 39 months
MSPR: $37,850
Sell for: $34,243
*The $1750 or 0% for Financing only, then there is a $1000 available for Leasing.

This is for my wife, i have an 09 SV Premium and love it. She likes the G37x better but I thought the maxima would be a better deal.

Thats bull, the 1,750 is for leasing also, thats how i got a good deal on the Maxima Im picking up thursday. Go to overstock.com and on the top is a tab that says cars, it will show you the best prices from the best dealers in the area this is what I did and I saved so much $$$$$$ and ended up getting into a sport package instead of a base SV.

YO Sgir so here is my final two options grab an 09 premium w/ spoiler and every damn option for 29500 OTD w/ 20000k miles, only thing is its at an acura dealer so no payment, but I would still have a couple grand left over to save or grab the 10 with the spoiler and premium monitor pack for 34k and not save any money with payments of like 150-200 bucks. I think Im just gonna grab the 09 and then save the money for when it time to trade up my Lex 430. But your my guiding light NH!!

Yea jus go wit the 09 man, at least you will have money in your pocket and dont have to worry about owing money. Go for the 09 20k miles in NOTHING for this car. Good luck dude! Im happy to be your guiding light NH! lol, get the 09 and keep that extra money liquid in the bank for a rainy day.

so after all that we finally got my(her) max...the car is so pretty. Kinda wish it was white with the dual roof, but black is still sexy. Shes got 20k miles on her and I paid 29k for her out the door. I go to pick her up on thurs and so now I have one finally question for all of yall. Since its got the remainder of the 3 year 36k mile warranty do you think i should shell out 1850 to get the extended warranty or just keep it movin, I gotta decide by thurs but something tellin me it aint worth it then again the piece of mind never hurt. What do yall thing?

Congrats on the purchase, I really don't know, Its a nissan so i really don't worry but since the CVT is new anything can happen. Maybe try to negotiate the price of the warranty or ask for some freebies to go with it, free oil changes or something like that.

For 400-500 bucks a month you can buy the car...Lease will prob cost you $300 and up with $5000 down.

They'll prob be rolling out the 11's soon, prob around september, october.

I just bought a '10 SV and it was actually cheaper than the '09s...If the dealer has incentives, they will only apply the lastest model year. I got my SV (leather and sunroof) for $26,900 in July.

Sgir yea bro I talked to a bunch of people and actually a couple mechanics that I trust and they tell me its a big rip off so I aint gonna mess with it. As song as I pick it up tomorrow Im headed straight to the dealership to have them check it sinces its still under warranty. They shouldnt charge much if anything and the warranty didnt cover anything basically! So ill just keep takin it to the dealer if I feel it has any sort of problem for the next 16k miles and have them take care of it.

i kinda regret not going for the '10 after going over the number for the 100th time, but this was the right decision. Got every possible option offered on the 09 at a price I wanted to pay with low miles. I do wish it was a sport tho cuz the rims is sick!

I like the peace of mind of the warranty. I think you should be able to get the price of the warranty down, though. I paid $1300 for a 6 year, 100,000 mile warranty when I bought my new max.

I am in Nashville,TN. VPP is employee purchase which almost any dealer in Nashville will sell you for $100. VPP is 4.3% below invoice and right now they are giving 3000 cash back (Nissan Finance). Sorry it was 31,000 plus tax. I also got 1yr free Maintenance+ which is free Nissan service at any Nissan dealer.

Try to get VPP if possible. Its employee purchase form that most salespeople will sale to you for a good price $100-200. If you are willing to drive to Nashville they have a large selection and most dealers will give you VPP. Its 4.3% below invoice.
