Alright, so probably like many of us my work load has decreased dramatically due to the economy and I am super bored. So I decided to create this poll just for sh*ts and giggles.

Winter Frost and your missing Tuscan Sun....

Yes you need to replace Sonoma Sunset with Tuscan Sun.

Also missing Super Black!

These are the canadian colors that I listed directly from nissan.ca

The Canadian Maxima colors have different names. You poll is set up so only Canadians can respond.

Satin white...is winter frost they fooled me also but after reseach and buying touch up paint i notice it.(3stage pl paint wtf)

And Sonoma Sunset is Tuscan Sun, and Ebony is Super Black, and Ink Blue is Navy Blue, and Silver Mist is Radiant Silver, and Niagara Gray is Dark Slate, with Precision Gray and Mystic Jade being the only two colors with the same name in both countries.

Wow, had I known it would be such a big deal I wouldn't have done it. I just wanted to see what kind of colours everybody got.

Why are the Canadian color names different from the American ones?
I thought they would all be the same for the North American side.
Just a curiosity questiion :)

Radiant Mist

Auto companies give their colors names that they feel the intended audience would like. The colors for cars targeted for the U.S. would always need different names than colors for cars to be sold in Canada.

United States citizens ON AVERAGE tend to be impulsive, reactionary, aggressive, sometimes even beligerant, and tend to 'shoot first and ask questions later'; John Wayne style. For instance, not to get too political, but we reacted to 9/11 by attacking the only Arab nation that had nothing to do with 9/11. Saddam was a despotic bully, but he and bin Laden disliked each other intensely, so Iraq was the ONLY Arab country in which bin Laden could NOT have been hiding. In the meantime, bin Laden got away, and Al Qaeda and the Taliban built their strength without our interference. Attacking Iraq was a classic example of the 'shoot first' way we operate in the U.S.

Canadian citizens ON AVERAGE tend to be more reserved, thoughtful, logical and even introspective. If there is a peaceful way to resolve an issue, that would be their preference. They will stand up for their rights, and fight when necessary. And their soldiers are brave and valorous, just as U.S. soldiers are. But logic and discussion are usually the first approach by Canadians. Another thing I usually notice when around Canadians is that they tend to be more soft-spoken than U.S. citizens, and 'getting ahead of the Jones' is not their primary mission in life. Those two details alone mean they are not like average U.S. citizens.

So Nissan knew they needed different names for the same colors for cars headed to Canada. I hope this answers your question as to the different names for colors.

So, "kick a*s black" or "take no prisoners red" are probably not wise choices for the Canadian market.

I think, the dual moonroof looks sick with the white. It looks good with silver too but not very sure about the other colors.

Uh the last I checked Canada and the US are both in North America. I suspect the reason might be is the names were already in use in the US.

Nope. The names given to the colors chosen for the Maxima in the U.S. were not already in use on any vehicle in Canada. The important detail here is that Canada and the U.S. are two different countries with rather different folks.

Car color names are very carefully chosen, and sales is THE consideration. There are actually people who will let the name of a color influence how they feel about that color. All car makers know this. That is why possible color names are run by test audiences in an effort to find out what names resonate positively with which audiences.

ALL Maximas come off the same assembly line in Smyrna TN. The same colors go to both the U.S. and Canada. The names for the colors in Canada are different only because Nissan found those names were more favorably received by Canadians than the names used in the U.S.

As with everything, decisions are controlled by sales.

Mine is in Grey, and I love it, I've got tired of black and white cars in the past, so i guess I went with a mix of the two! lol
