how to remove the dealer letter of the trunk?
I forgot to tell the dealer to remove their white letter dealer name of the trunk so I have to get it off myself. anyone know how or the best way to get it off without scratching or damaging the paint?

There's a bunch of threads about it, if you search you'll find some great details. Essentially, if you took dental floss and ran it under the thing, you could lift it off without any harm to the paint.
Razor blade will work, but if you make any mistakes, of course you're going to pay for it.
As far as removing the gunk under it...there's may different brews to use. In the end I used ammonia to soak it for a few minutes, as everything from goo-gone to orange glow and everything in-between wouldn't budge the stuff the dealer used. Of course elbow grease is a gimmie...

There was this crazy thing I saw on Trucks on Spike TV. It was some kind of orbiting wax disc that basically rubs off adhesive with zero damage done to the clear coat. I wish I could remember what it was called. This might work in this scenario.

3M adhesive remover or Goo Gone. I prefer 3M it works faster and easier but its more toxic so wear a mask. Neither of them cause any damage to the car or clear coat but Goo Gone required more rubbing so you could have slight towel streaks if you rub too hard. Ive removed all the labeling and emblems from my 09 max

thats just plain idiotic. sorry to be critical. but it is. use a hair dryer to heat up the vinyl and make it flexible, then use a thin piece of plastic, like a credit card; or your fingernails if theyre long enough. then, yes, i agree with goo gone or high concentrate citrus cleaner. both work very well.

I just soaked mine in GooGone and peeled the lettering right off. Finished up with that Turtlewax Bug n Tar remover followed up by a bit of soap n water and a waxing over that area.
Simple, safe and no accidental slicing on my car.

I guess I lucked out. The sticker my dealer uses is flexible, about a quarter of an inch thick, says simply 'NISSAN SOUTH', and I can ease my fingernail under the corner and easily pull it off.
Every time I am going to the dealer for service/routine maintenance, I simply stick the thing back on, then remove it after I get home. That way, he has the impression I am proud to advertise for him. Any brownie point I can muster . . .
I REALLY like his sticker because it is small, neat, and easily taken off or put back on.

If you think about it, nobody really cares where the car was sold, the driver behind you looks at the sticker to see where you are from. I have never initiated buying a new car based on the dealer sticker.

What are those stickers for, anyway?

I doubt it, if they ever notice. Part of my selling deal was the sticker came off before I left the lot.

My situation is very different from yours. I know the service manager, the tech writeup folks, some of the mechanics, and, more importantly, the owner, sales manager and internet manager, have known most of them for around fifteen years, always buy my Maximas there, always get a good deal, always get all my service done there, and (this is where the difference comes in) these folks usually see me come in, come over to greet me, and we stand behind the car discussing how it is doing.
I even bump into these folks at restaurants, etc (my wife and I eat at lots of places near that dealer). I have sent them customers. I have done writeups for them for problems I have researched and for which they haven't yet had help from Nissan (the leaking ceiling in the early '04s, for instance). I also let them know things I learn here on the ORG.
I actually AM proud of my dealership, but still like to take the dealer sticker off when not going to the dealer. I wouldn't bother with this, but it only takes ten seconds to slap the sticker on and ten seconds to pull it off.

they mean those lil square green stickers, I have no idea what they are for either. However, I simply peeled those off with my fingernail, then turtle wax bug n tar remover from autozone took the adhesive right off

I do not have the small green stickers either however I do have small blue dots on the wheels of my Murano. They lined up with a corresponding colored dot on the original tires. When I replaced the tires last year the installer lined up the same colored dot on the tire with the small dot on the wheel. Looks like it is to help with the overall balancing of the wheel/tire unit. Maybe the light area of the wheel to be aligned with the heavy area of the tire?

This is just a wild card, but don't they use green valve stem caps on tires that have been filled with nitrogen? Maybe the new Max tires are being filled with nitrogen and thus the green stickers? I dunno...

I hate these dealer stickers. Annoys me just as much as stickers on computers. They all look so tacky.
Well a way I learned from my dad, that works great is charcoal lighter fluid. Works for almost any kind of sticker. Just squirt around the whole sticker and you can usually peel it off or use your finger/soft cloth to take the rest off. Works great.

I took fishing line to the emblem and then my fiance has this round eraser that goes on the end of a drill and it comes off so nice and smooth.. I'll ask him for a link if your interested in knowing more.
