Front driver seat fix from Nissan!!
#281
My 2016 maxima drivers side seat is really rocking now but the dealership says its OK and within acceptable limits. This was my second visit there for this complaint. They have been no help on this issue! The nissan dealership technician should try to drive this car every day and feel the rocking at every stop sign and stop light. He would change his tune real fast if this was his car. The passenger side seat is fine and does not rock.

Loose Drivers Seat & Bad Seam Stitching
Also the seam stitching on the drivers seat cushion is pulling apart with about an 1/8" gap for a distance along the seam of about 3 inches. It looks bad.
This 2016 maxima has only 4500 miles on it and is less than a year old. [Sorry I just noticed that I posted this in the 7th Gen and that my car is an 8th Gen with a similar drivers seat problem.]

The mechanic at my dealership has admitted (after my third visit there) that the drivers seat is indeed loose and rocks excessively. He says the seat frame/ track needs replaced. The dealership has ordered the parts and is going to replace it.

Still got my seat rocking, too. I saw a "Maxima Seat Fix" on Facebook a while ago, that they were taking pre-orders for for $19.95. This was back in May and there have been no updates since then. Really wish something would come out for it. I've gotten my seat to where it doesn't do it as much but it's still there...

This is a really old thread, but I don't want to start a new one and get scolded. Anyone find a solution besides going to dealer? My 2001 GLE is not going to go anywhere with a dealer.
My driver's seat rocks perhaps 1/4" fore-aft, not up-down. I find if I push seat all the way back, the seat actually rotates clock-wise about 1/2", meaning, left rail stopped the seat, while the right rail still has a bit of room. In that rear-most position, absolutely no rocking, but I'm sitting facing center of vehicle just a little bit. Move the seat forward a bit from the very end of rail, and the fore-aft movement comes back again. This movement is evident on both rails (I put fingers on the front edge of rail and rock the seat).
This is a problem because when I am braking and I feel the seat rock, even a little bit, it can potentially be dangerous as it distracts just for that moment. On acceleration, I feel it, too, but not as dangerous. I'm 6' tall and not abnormally weighted. If my weight and height is still the problem, then Nissan definitely did not design with real people in mind.
It's cold where I am now, and not fun to troubleshoot so if someone has experience, I'd appreciate a head-start. Otherwise, in the spring, I'll take it apart and see where the play is.
