Hey guys quick question how much are brakes on a 010 maxima?

Don't go aftermarket, get dealer parts. Bring the parts to the shop, they shouldn't charge no more then 90 bucks for the front and 90 for the rear to install brakes and rotors.

id go with Hawk brake pads for more bite, the OEM pads leave a little to be desired.

yeah. i was debating on what brakes to use. i was going to bring it to my mechanic but then someone told me to buy the pads online and bring them to the shop to use.

Anybody tried EBC redstuff pads. I've seen a few post on other places that they're good and will let your rotors survive some hard driving.

So I brought it to the shop and the mechanic said better to go with Nissan brakes then th other types

EBC Red Stuff are awesome, good bite and low dust.
BigJoe...of course Nissan will tell you to get Nissan brakes. You know dealerships make most of their money off service they sell you right? If you want improved braking go for Hawk or EBC brake pads. |

Pads and Rotors from Nissan for front only - 68.01 per rotor, 70.63 for pad set = $210 rounded up
Slotted or Drilled Rotors from Tirerack - 118 per rotor, Hawk HPS pads - 73 set, or 80 for ceramics = 320 for the high end....Hell they even have Brembo Blanks for $50 each |

my plan in the spring is to get stainless steel brake lines, some higher temperature brake fluid, EBC red stuff front and back, and on the fence between machining the stock rotors/getting aftermarket rotors too. im overhauling the whole thing i dont like steppin on the brake and having the car not slow down..

After my experience at the track where I experience brake fade and wound up with badly scored rotors I'm going to pursue a similar path a Ghozt. My plan is to put EBC sport rotors on the front, keep my OEM rear rotors and put EBC redstuff pads all around. I haven't gotten much advise on the latter decision but it makes sense to those I talk to. I'd think you want the same pad material all around so the braking distribution is the same. If you find yourself braking hard then it makes sense to have some gas venting capability in your front rotors. I am curious if the change is rotor surface area affects the performance but that's the direction I'm going.

there are a ton of options...i personally will never do Rockauto or autozone stuff again....i have been having bad luck with their stuff the last couple years...I would either buy dealer only or name brand companies like DBA, Brembo, EBC.....in all honesty i will prolly get Brembo Blanks and hawks HPS when i need brakes....heavy track days are tough on brakes no matter what you have but the high temp fluid, stainless lines and drilled rotors do help a lot. In terms of rotor surface area....drilled rotors do help not as much as a BBK but they do help, BBKs are $$$$ and can be a giant PITA...good quality OEM upgraded replacements will do wonders...SS lines will be a nice change in pedal feel for ya

If only your pads r thnning out and get no vibrations, then just replace the pads, do not turn the rotors like many will suggest u to to.
Id also suggest oem pads, they come with the proper amount of shims. Theres like two bolts, u should be able to do it yourself. |
Now are we referring to stainless steal brake lines or rubber?
