Transmission won't shift over to Ds
I threw my shifter into Ds and it stayed in D. Up/Down shift doesn't respond. The only thing I can think of besides transmission probs or computer failure is - My battery died last week 'cause I left my Radar detector plugged into the battery supply (under lid/center console). I jumped it and its been starting ever since (a little sluggish tho). Any suggestions as to why the car won't shift into Ds? The only thing the manual says about staying in automatic regardless of shifter position is a safety feature that activates if the CVT fluid overheats. I'm not sure about that as I've never had any overheating probs. Any suggestions or experience with this would help. Thanks

Try to shift to it as soon as you turn your on? Sounds like something I would definitely take to the dealer about though, and make sure that you do the shifting to show them. None of that let them take it to the back for 30-40 minutes only to return saying that they can't replicate the problem.

yeah definitely sounds like something you should take to the dealer and literally show them what is happening

Loose connection between the CVT and the TCM.
If it's not that then you've got a major problem |
Before I had the valve body replaced in mine, I was able to accelerate in manual mode bumping the shifter up to 3. I would then slip the shifter straight accross into "D" mode, the CVT wouldn't realize it was in the "D" mode. It just kept reving like it was stuck in Manual 3.

Thanks for the comments/suggestions. I took it in and turns out I had a bad battery and some blown fuses. Tech was able to "replicate" the problem and explained the computer needed to forget. Lost all my settings but works like a charm and got the function back in the front power supply. Thanks again.
