before u change your headunit, check out sony's MirrorLink

this is the only reason I would even bother to change out my headunit.

a external option to mount to car like a navigation unit would be ideal.

but yeah this thing rocks.

this is not sony specific, mirrorlink is a technology feature that will be compatible for most phones.

I was about to do a thread like this but my star would have been the Pioneer avic z140bh. I was very close to purchasing but now, I am thinking if I can really live with both screens showing navigation, one above the other.

I also looked at the sony, it had nice features but could not send navigation to an external monitor.

Do you guys have the non nav screens, since you want to change yours.... My headunit is more then enough for me...

It would b nice if it was just a portable 7 inch screen u can mount or temporarily mount on top of screen.

Anything to avoid having to chop up the dash.

thats pretty cool. if i did a head unit change-out id probably go this route with something like this so it integrates fully with the phone. i saw the stuff Ford has in their cars and got a little jealous..
