Got Vossen Cv1's !

Ok so I just put in 20" vossen cv1 on my max. It's 20x9 up front 20x10.5 in back. I have an eibach drop and I read on here that I don't need to roll fenders. How ever when I'm driving over 30 and hit a sorta big bump I can hear the back scrape. It makes me cringe! I'm at 66,000 miles and when I put my springs on the mechanic said my shocks and struts are pretty shot. Also the wheels came with 275/35/20 in the back, the back are supposed to be 275/30/20. Will changing the tires fix this.. When people say no rubbing do they mean going 10mph over no bumps?.. I tried to upload pics but I'm on my phone. Will post pics soon !

You probably just have too much sidewall with the 35 series tires. wait til they get changed, the rubbing might go away.

Turned out I just had too much stuff in the trunk. Rides alot smoother and higher with out a loaded trunk. But I still want to shave the fenders eventually and get the right tires

Looks awesome

love the vossen's, thats one of my favorite wheel set ups! Great job! makes me jealous!

Staggered357 11-12-2012 10:59 AM

again looks great, i am running same setup, except 30 in the rear and my shocks are decent, my suggestion, take them back switch out the tires before you put too many miles on them, then do the shocks, then load your trunk back up... put some Meguiars Endurance tire gel on them and take some more pics...lol

gotfunk? 11-12-2012 12:19 PM

Lol yea I need to gel my tires... Question.. If I get new shocks and struts won't they wear out really quick again due to the eibach drop and I don't see any aftermarket shocks and struts... Won't new stock ones wear out in 1-2 years.. I drive a ton, 30,000 a year

I am about to order these rims that I am fond of...My question is do I have to buy the TPMS..Tire Pressure Monitoring System..? It says for $215.00 I have to add the feature..? I never bought rims for any of my cars..And I just want to do things right the first time.

Then again..I am reading further and it says that our TPMS might already be compatible..check with blah blah blah..

So I figured I check with you guys! It should be alright right?

Im pretty sure you can switch it from your old ones on them. I'm going to do it right before I sell my old wheels

Love Vossen wheels....looks great!

MaximaDrvr 03-14-2013 07:24 PM

What is the offset on those wheels?

MIA_SHIFT 03-14-2013 09:33 PM

Lookin good brotha!!

Staggered357 03-15-2013 07:46 AM

No flossing in handicap zones!
Front offset is 38 and rear I believe is 42 or vice versa I forget but pretty sure that is correct...

Richy Rich 03-15-2013 11:00 AM

Looks good, too much sidewall on the rear, and thinking a 5 or 10mm space on the front would finish it out.

MoncefA33 03-15-2013 12:29 PM

Vossens are sick but throw those lowering springs in the garbage and get some coilovers. You have more control over dampening and it will reduce/remove rubbing completely.

MaximaDrvr 03-15-2013 12:33 PM

If you look straight down, are the rears flush with the fenders? If not, how far in or out do they sit?

Same question for the fronts as well.

Thanks.

The rears do. The fronts... Well I had to put a 7mm spacer to clear the Akebono BBK, I am about to order a10 mm spacer, there was a noticeable difference with the 7mm spacer in the front so with the 10, it should be flush
