Hi, I'm new here and might need some guiding

Hey folks,
I'm Rafik from Dubai, UAE. Owning a 2011 Maxima with Premium Package. White on Beige. I had a BMW M3 earlier (E46) which exploded so I turned for this. I quite like the car but I feel Nissan did give it a soft tune and made the car underspowered for the given engine. I'm no expert between you folks :) I'm just trying to fit in and get some proper info from you. I got few questions if you don't mind: - Front LED lights, agency is asking 2000AED (600 US$) for installation and fitting of the OEM LED day running lights, worth it? or should I get aftermarket ones, and where from? - Engine performance, any good tune/chip you guys recommend? I have my warranty so I would probably ask for something un-traceable :P - The Xenon lights, any way to get an upgrade kit to a Bi-Xenon system? I kind of hate the yellow high beam. Bi-Xenons like Audi(s) or VW(s) are awesome. Again, I'm no expert in the Nissan Field (ask me anything in the M3 field and I'll answer it :P) Thanks in advance for your time and help :) Rif |

Xenon lights; you can upgrade to an aftermarket HID kit that is plug and play with your headlights. Hope this helps. |

Regarding DRLs, I've seen the ones they include factory in UAE and that's probably your cleanest option. A little pricey but unless you find a local custom shop to do your work you'll need to do the custom fitting of other LED strips yourself.

What are the gains from Uprev tune and if I'm in UAE how can I get it :S I guess I'll just have to go for the Intake Kit and Exhaust then :\ The problem with the HID kit is that the HID doesn't heat up quick enough to be strong, it starts dimmed then it lights up after like 5 seconds (which I don't really like) Unless the HID Ballast is quite good then it's a different story, any certain brand in mind that I can buy ? Once again, thanks for your help :) |

Haha well, daily drifting and racing plus heavily modded high mileage M3 :P Had K&N Cold Air Intake, HAWK Ceramics, Agency Power SS Braided Brake Lines, VIEZU Tune, K&N Air Scoops, FOX Race Exhaust, EvoSport UnderDrive Pulleykit. Not to mention I was a drift instructor and am a horny son of *** on the gas pedal :P so I fired my pistons out of their place. On a serious note, I think 290hp on this 3.5L V6 is too little! |

First of all, I gotta say that is one gorgeous Maxima you've got!!

Once again, thanks for your help :) the real gains from parts is an estimate, cause our CVT transmission is impossible to dyno accurately (can't lock in gear). the guys who've gotten all bolt-ons and a tune have said with the tune it really opens the car up. you can do more than intake/exhaust. Racingline makes a Y pipe. CXJ Performance makes a intake manifold/throttle body spacer kit, Stillen makes an underdrive/lightweight pulley, and a few guys have gone the lengths to have either custom High flow cats or custom headers made (only 1 of each that I know of). here's a link to the Uprev Osiris tuner kit; you can buy this and have a shop dyno-tune your car when you're done adding parts. http://uprev.com/secure/osiris-engin...ris-tuner.html yeah i think most HID kits are like that, they light the bulb and very slowly get brighter over 5 seconds. theretrofitsource.com is a great place to get anything headlight related; they make awesome stuff. |

Will I be buying a pre-fixed map for the engine? where I'd be installing it locally using any dyno shop ? Once again, amazing help from you nice folks! Thanks! |

I had the FX-R on my M3 which fitted perfectly, but how would I know which retrofit I need to get ? which fits which doesn't ? Because that application is exactly what I need!

Once again, amazing help from you nice folks! Thanks! the Osiris package I linked you is the full tuner kit so it includes the cable, software, and licensing for one ECU. take it to a shop that has experience with tuning software so they can dyno-tune the car for you. unfortunately there are no pre-made tunes for our car, everything has to be done manually using the most expensive option of the software(unfortunately) so you have full control. if you can find a local shop that deals in Uprev (try contacting them on their site to see if any locations are near you) you can possibly get it cheaper than what its listed on the site. |

You don't need a bi-xenon retrofit kit unless you want to change your low beam into low/high and then have dual high beams or use your high beam for something else. If you just want to add HID's here's the exact HID kit you can order from them, what you need is anything that fits H11. When you install these you'll need to find a place to mount the ballast's bracket, alot of people just use some bare metal that is directly behind the headlight. any shop can very easily install these for you if you dont know how. - http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...oducts_id=3955
Once again, you're being a great helper and many thanks *bow* |

Well actually I want the Bi-Xenon Low Beam because I know these things and they are powerful and could blind someone who's blocking your lane :P so which of the retrofits would be compatible with Maxima ?

the only projector that you can use to convert your lowbeam into bixenon is the Bi-xenon: Morimoto Mini D2S 2.0 which you will need to do some modification to it to make it fit the oem bracket.

I do think though that the high beam should remain as halogen to have better vision during foggy weather. However, low beam SHOULD be a Bi-Xenon. Installing the XF-R low beam projectors are PITA ? or is it doable? |
