2009 Maxima Sequential Tail Lights

Yup. Ya boy did it again. From the guy who brought you the first crazy set of headlights, we got the first set of sequential tail lights on a new generation Maxima.

Thanks Ghozt,

I WANT!!!

Where can I place my order? lol

COOLWHP 01-31-2013 07:30 AM

Looks badass! Totally getting rid of the turn signal bulb in the rear... I'd like to do this myself if it isn't a PITA... Let us know!

Ghozt 01-31-2013 07:32 AM

it was an immense amount of work. you wont want to know what i'd charge to do this. they light up dim for running lights, bright for brake lights, and sequence for turn signals. the old turn signal bulb is now a 2nd reverse bulb and let me tell you that backing up with the reverse cam at night is ridiculous now ha

Shipwreck 01-31-2013 07:33 AM

Friggin sweet! I've always dreamed about it ala mustang tails but never thought about how to get it done.

Let us know!

Ghozt 01-31-2013 10:22 AM

the video is pretty terrible not sure why it came out so choppy. gonna do another with my GoPro and replace it

Amerikaner83 01-31-2013 10:24 AM

That's HOT!

I'd like to see what it looks like with parking lights ON and turn signal, as well as brake lights ON and turn signal as well.

Very well done!

06BlckMax 01-31-2013 10:24 AM

Noice

Ghozt 01-31-2013 10:34 AM

yeah this was a rushed vid cause i was excited to be done haha. new video will be both tails and will demo everything.

tgood 01-31-2013 10:59 AM

So why don't you tell us how to do it so that you don't have to do it?

But if I did that, then how would my whip stay unique? If I wanted to have what everyone else has I'd have left them stock.

Indeed... That's fire GHOZT... Once again.. You holding down the supremacy...

Serpent 01-31-2013 11:45 AM

Ghozt, that looks sick. I like everything about that down to the timing between each led lighting up. Way to go bro.

Screw being unique, name your price and let some rich mofo's pay it! (I'm not rich, lol) Some people need a place to spend 2 or 3 grand on taillights, right? Lol

No DIY, make people pay you and then you build it for them. Then the few people who get it owe it all to you. You could even include a "Ghozt" window sticker with a badass logo that I guarantee people would put on. Lol

Point well made. Awesome job, man!

Maxgig 01-31-2013 01:00 PM

Whats old is now new again. Good job, but I like sequentials on classic muscle like my 69 Cougar.

Respectful answer!

Though it is already out there that you are the first to do this mod, and props to you. I understand you want to stay unique, but eventually everyone becomes that same. Well it depends on how deep their pockets are.

Again, props to you on the job, it looks sweet.
How long did it take you to complete, was it alot of dismantling of the lens ?

Envymynissan 01-31-2013 01:35 PM

Sweeet! You are raising the bar....

Envymynissan 01-31-2013 01:36 PM

I found a flaw... It would look better on 2012 blacked out lights.... That is ... MY 2012 blacked out lights... Jeje

Even without this mod, I don't think you're in danger of losing 'uniqueness.' ;)

And besides imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Good work though! You sir are a pioneer and innovator.:ben:

haha i debated gettin some 2012's to do this to but am gonna tint the red (again) anyway so it looks almost the same.

MaximaGuido09c 02-01-2013 01:01 AM

Not bad!!..but I never use my turn signals anyways..so it'd be pointless to do this mod! Yeah..I just said that.

20MAXGIRL13 02-01-2013 02:56 AM

Good work. wiring and relays are always a beeotch!! paving the way!

Jbling700 02-01-2013 06:00 AM

Once again Ghozt has done it again. Love the new look bro. Okkkkk nobody copy thissss!!!

I had no idea the older muscle cars had that; that's pretty cool! I modeled my idea off the more recent mustang tail lights that I'm sure you're all well aware of.

Yeah I'm sure somebody will see this and go hit up 180customs or another company and have something similar made, it's not rocket science but definitely takes some elbow grease and brains; I'd consider doing this on the side for people but I already have a full time job that pays the bills; this car stuff is just a hobby.

Regarding the time involved, a ridiculous amount of research and labor was involved. You'd think I was crazy for doing this...

I have a big car club meet tomorrow so I'm getting my updated video then which will demo all the functions (running lights/brake/sequentials) and maybe do a quick pan around so you can see all the other sick rides (mostly Infiniti's but we're all family)

trailer54 02-01-2013 05:40 PM

Awsome bro, looks great!

esco115 02-01-2013 10:11 PM

I like it and thumbs up to him. But I don't like the multi purpose of it ex. turn signal and brake. There is a spot for the signals already whats the purpose of recreating it? just my opinion.

There wasn't a way to do sequential tail lights without re-purposing the brake lights LEDs. Doing it using the existing bulb sockets would just look weird.

Updated with second video link, hard to see the sequencing at night on film but video came out kinda cool.

harsh2888 02-02-2013 12:46 PM

Looks really nice! Haha i've wanted to do the same thing you have done (use the tailight also as a turn signal) before i got my 7thgen minus the sequential part. I had a another thread asking if it was even possible

2themax11 02-02-2013 08:48 PM

Now this is something I'm jealous about!!!! Dude this is a f*cking masterpiece! Congrats on getting it accomplished.

I've posted guides for basically all of my other mods; brother has to keep some things to himself.

ToroMax 02-03-2013 08:51 AM

ok muh bratha id love to do this as well gonna have to figure it on my own but gonna have to do it somehow differently... lol. but heads up for being the innovator though haha

eesjunin 02-04-2013 06:33 AM

Wow...well done!

Quinn'sMax 02-04-2013 06:55 AM

Very nice!

Ghozt 02-04-2013 07:11 AM

Thanks again everyone.

Also I don't doubt someone will be able to replicate this, its not rocket science, but all I ask is give credit where its due for the idea cause this was a lot of work from inception to fabrication. Reverse engineering the circuitry and designing my own was most of the work but the hard part was getting everything working together and have it look OEM when finished. You may not believe it but the way I built this its completely plug and play using the OEM wire harness.

And I'm already working on my next custom mod. :-)

chiefy 02-08-2013 07:06 PM

Awesome.. Like it alot
