I would use a processor like the JL cleansweep or something similar.
You can replace the HU, but some functions of the car will probably be lost.

What model do you have? If you have the S model like I do it would be better to change out the head unit.

You don't have to, but if you want better sound quality this should be at the top of the list.. It depends on how far you want to go with it. If you are adding subs only you can buy converters to install the amp. The headunit will have a dedicated sub out channel, and equalizers to get the most out of your speakers.
You will also be able to stream with bluetooth. You could add a backup cam, nav, you could run apps from your phone on the head unit... What are your plans?

Thanks, I have the SV model. What I have so far are 2 kenwood 12's and 2 amps to power them. Right now all i want to do is get those hooked up then down the line I plan on eventually replacing the head unit and upgrading the factory speakers but for now i just want some boom.

check out audiocontrol.com they have what you need. Cheaper in most cases than JL Cleansweep

I've used this recently and it works great, you don't have to search for the "remote" wire, as it auto sense the signal from the rear 6x9 and turns on the amp..

Though I have a questions is it work buying the extra remote bass **** with this unit ?

I always say yes when you're working with a headunit that doesn't have an individual sub control. So I would def pick one up for either the LC-2 or if your amp has one.
