In the market for a Maxima, how's this?
I came across this 2009 Nissan Maxima Premium edition in my area for almost $24000 with less than 6000 miles on it.
http://www.drivewithpride.net/web/us...exas/10925216/ Seems a bit fishy that a car about five years old has that few miles on it and the price does seem a bit high. I'm sure I'd be able to haggle it down some but not too sure since to my understanding, the current Premium Maxima models are about $10K above that and have hardly changed since the first 09 models. What do you guys think? Thanks! |
Looks nice, price is a bit high but I bet it's right on with the mileage. If I were to bet it was either a demonstrator or used as a rental. Also doesn't say anything about how many owners in the carfax

Thanks for the fast reply!
What do you guys think would be a fair price for this Maxima? It seems like such an anomaly since its the loaded Premium model, pretty much brand new, but the first 2009 generation. |
My dad has a 2002 Max with 13K miles so the mileage could be legit.
Remember that rubber rots and it will need new tires, belts and possibly hoses soon plus it has no bumper to bumper warranty The warranty, Tires, Belts ,etc and possible 0% financing are worth an extra $4k easy not to mention the newer cars value I bet you could find a leftover 2013 Premium /tech for about $28K if you look, try trucar I'd offer 19K tops, |
I wouldn't offer more than 19k either. Trade in value on kbb is only 19k and that's for a car in "excellent" condition. The previous dealership had this car listed for 22.9k but obviously didn't sell it. If you're willing to spend 24k, you should be able to find loaded models with some b2b warranty left.

Look at carmax. They usually get good loaded maximas at reasonable prices.

I'm still really wondering what's up with this 2009 Maxima having less than 6000 miles. Especially worried about any rot and deterioration from a likely lack of maintenance. :( If I go to check out the car, what are the signs I should look for, as a relative car newbie? Thanks! |
I bought a 2010 sv maxima out of Chicago carmax. Tranferred to MS. I did look under it for rust but didn't notice none but around the rotors. Which I figured would be normal for up north with salt on bridges. But that's all u noticed. Hopefully I'm lucky.
|
I stayed away from the premium due to possible issues with the dual panel roof. It looks great but does not seem that it would be as solid as the normal roof. Just asking for problems such as rattles. Make sure both heated and cooled seats work properly.
|
I just bought my 2012 Premium/Tech with 5k miles for 25k
|
I bought my 2013 Maxima SV with 7000 miles for 26k a week and a half ago.

Interesting, can I ask you when you bought it, how much and the car is performing well for you? There were/are no issues with it?

Thanks! :/ I guess I still feel iffy about this vehicle. Check the tires, they will be showing signs of dry rot as will the belts. How bad the dry rot is will let you know is they need immediate replacement My dad's Max is his 2nd car ( he lives in Connecticut so it's his winter car) and has under 15K and it 12 years old. He bought the car new and it gets covered in the summer but it has never been garaged as there is no space, In 2009 at about 10k miles he replaced the tires and belts because of dry rot and he also replaced the battery Besides that the car is fine. BTW, the tires showed what the tire guy called "flat lining "dry rot on the outside but upon dismount I have no idea how didn't have a blowout as it was much worse on the inside of the tire which you can't see while the tire on the rim |
