I'm New! Putting 16" wheels on?

Hi All,

I am considering taking a plunge into the world of Maxima. I currently have a 2012 Camry LE, so it will be quite a change in luxury and excitement.

Where I am from in Canada it is hard to find a decent premium package Maxima. I found a really good Sport Package with Tech and low mileage, and I think I want to go for it.

However, as you can imagine, winters are brutal here and the roads also have a lot of potholes. Naturally I have pretty much brand new snow tires on 16" steelies for my Toyota, at 205/65/R16.

I checked online and they are pretty much identical in diameter. They also share the same bolt pattern.

Can I put these on my Maxima?

Any other advice as a potential new Maxima owner?

They likely wont fit over the front calipers.

Correct^ You can give it a test fit but as a prior Camry owner I can almost assure you that those steel wheels will not fit. My current 17'' aluminum winter wheels just barely clear my calipers.

They may fit but will be really close. As much as I recommend small wheels and thin tires, 205/65/16 seems a bit inadequate for this car, even if it does fit. Get a light pair of 17s and you will love the ride quality of this car as well as the quietness.
There is virtually no road noise with my 225/55/17 hankook tires, even on the highway. However on the hwy over 60 MPH significant amount of wind noise seems to appear, but I can see how the shape of this car is not exactly aerodynamic..
