Just Purchased my 6th maxima

Hi guys I just purchased a 2010 Maxima SV with 52kk on it. I have owned "83, '87,'95, 2000 and a 2004. Needless to say I am Maxima guy. I am looking for tips and advice for my toy. I am factory guy so I do not do alot of mods. Maybe a K/N filter and thats length of my mod knowledge. So I appreciate any tips and advice.

You sound like the kinda guy who could give the user on here lightonthehill a run for his money. Although he's had his 7th gen from day one, and you're just beginning your experience with it. I'm sure you'll love it. Congrats on the upgrade.

Btw, if I could give one bit of upgrade advice that applies to anyone who drives a 7th gen: a better rear sway bar would be an upgrade you would be glad you did. Doesn't change the appearance of the car one bit, it just helps with handling. Not too expensive, and worth every penny no matter what kind of driving you do. Stillen makes a good one.

Have fun with the new car!

4 Things...

1)Upgrade the interior lighting to LEDs (I think vled is the best?)

2)Weathertech rubber mats

3)Your at 52K miles if your still on oem tires you better start researching what your new set will be based on your driving environments/habits

4) This probably should be number one but let a dealer other than the one you bought it from check the CVT fluid.

Nope. He bought his 6th Maxima, and not the 6th Gen Maxima.

Congratulations on your new Max! I'm on my 4th now.

I agree with going with a rear anti sway bar. This has been a mod that I've used on my last 3 Maximas. In all cases, it has been one of the best mods, especially considering the price.

I would do the CVT drain & fill at 60k.

Congrats on the purchase. I've owned a Murano (10) and 3 Maxima's (97, 03, and currently a 10) and if I could get either of them back I would. I too prefer to keep mine stock but as mentioned you can't go wrong with a front or rear sway bar. Maintenance wise, I would recommend you check your CVT fluid and change it if it's brown or black. The dealer says its good for 100k miles but I changed mine at 50k and it really needed it.

Either the Stillen or Racingline sway bars will work just fine.

If you see a thread about defective bearings here - DO NOT TOUCH IT! I am serious. If you want to be a happy owner stay away from that thing like from the plague.
Listen to me and there is a very good probability you will be a happy owner.

Can't go wrong with either sway bar and you can feel the difference.

HOMERUN4THGLE - Welcome aboard! I drove Datsuns (made by Nissan) from the 1970s up till October 1984, when I bought two '85 Maximas (one for wifey). I did not own the first gen Maxima (Datsun Maximas at that time), but carpooled in a 1st gen 1983 diesel Maxima for two years. As you owned a 1983, I'm sure you were aware that first gen had a diesel option.

I have owned nothing but Maximas since October 1984, but must admit to owning such brands as Studebaker, Chevy, three Pontiacs, three Oldsmobiles and others between the late 1940s and the late 1970s. Also drove other vehicles owned by my kids, such as '67 and '69 Camaro Super Sports, early Mazda RX-7 Rotary coupe, Celica, early Saleen Mustang, etc.
But once I bought my first Maxima, there was no looking back.

One tidbit. Although my 550 cold cranking amp OEM battery in my 2009 Maxima did well for five years, I replaced it with the newer 700 CCA Nissan battery just to be on the safe side. 550 CCA is not quite strong enough to supply this 7th gen Maxima. If you have one of the 550 CCA batteries, you might consider a stronger one (say 640 CCA or stronger) before winter.

Again, welcome aboard!

Sway Bars

I am going to look into the sway bar purchase thanks for the links.

I will check my battery and see where I stand with CCA if I do not meet the 640+CCA threshold a new battery will go in this week.

Thanks again for the tidbits.
