Intake advice
Stillen cold air intake or K&N fort 2013 maxima SV which should I purchase? As far as I can tell only a boost in HP is different as well as look. Can anybody provide me with input. I am looking for best performance. I am also droppings the car with Megan racing EZ Street coil overs and 19' TSW polished lip wheels.
Please help I can't decide.
Thanks.

Everyone will agree here that any intake specifically made for our cars only helps with sound. There is no true cold air intake on the market for our cars, thus only warm air or short air intake are available which adds no protection from heat soak in the engine bay. If your looking for performance the best is to stick with the stock box and add a drop in filter like kn like most including myself have done.
Only other option is to relocate the battery to the trunk, and build a custom intake, a few here have went that route, but there's a decent amount of work involved.
If you only care about sound with the short ram intake just pick the cheapest, there all the same

Neither....
I wouldn't do either lol. No proof of increase especially when it's heat that's being induced. I'll let the ones that have them chime in.... but I had the Stillen and wasn't impressed at all. Save your money and by the Y-pipe for boost increase.

Agreed...spend it somewhere else like a y-pipe. If you want a more aggressive intake note then get the one that's easiest on the pocket book as stated above. I have the Stillen, took it off. I just kept it cuz my daughter likes it. When I pass the car down to her, I'll install it for her.

I have the K&n short ram intake and im debating on putting back on the stock intake. It sounds great but i dont really feel a difference and down here in florida with this extreme heat im afraid the heatsoak will eventually take its toll on the engine. Can anyone elaborate on if that is true or not?

Fantastic! Almost bought the intake but did not. I wanted to see what knowledge I could gain, and its priceless. Ha. Money saved for something else. No need for a different sound I like the sound more power would be nice but not necessarily needed.
Thank everyone.
Thank everyone.

Intakes always work best with an exhaust. On these motors, there is potential for power, but likely will see the best improvement with a Cat-back system.
Plus, they sound good.
STILLEN intakes go through extensive testing and R&D right here in our facility.
They are made to be an improvement on stock, but like I said, you'll get the best results with an exhaust.

Extensive testing? I would be curious to find your results of the intake air temperatures in both highway and city driving compared to factory stock temps.

I agree. I'd have to see these results to believe this cause many of us know the heat soak effect so this testing result would be very interesting to see!

Stillen says: "Your best dollar-per-horsepower investment by far! yet they also say "8-10 est. HP gain in performance", Estimated!
When you read the description it's the same BS wording companies have used for ages to get people excited to spend their money.
Stillen, supply concrete actual numbers or leave the numbers off. BTW, while we are talking Stillen, their RSB is not nearly stiff enough, it's no wonder the bar used the factory mounts.

It's all smoke and mirrors.
