USB Flashdrive/Audio help

Hi guys, I'm new to this forum and also new to the Nissan Maxima. This is my first Nissan as well, my 2000 Honda Civic died early on me and I was looking around for used Maximas and found a 2010 with 44k miles for 15k.

My question regards USB and flashdrives, I recently put music on a flashdrive and some of it plays, some of it doesn't. I haven't figured out why this is, all the files are MP3 including the ones that can be played, and the ones that can't. I have the SV Sport package I think it's called, it's a 2010 with no Nav system. I was also curious why I couldn't play music on my phone when connecting through the USB.

Not really sure if I posted this in the right section but if I didn't I apologize. Thanks for the help!

I wondered about this as well when I first got mine back in the summer. What I found out is if I plug in my Android phone it won't load, but if I plug in my iPhone or friends iPod that works without delay. Hope that helps.

Couple of reasons might participate in this problem. The path to the files might be too long (i.e. you put it inside of a folder tree, and the file name itself is too long), file name could have some special characters (like dots, apostrophes etc), and finally the compression rates for the songs could be different. I don't remember what are the values for Maxima player, but I don't compress my MP3s to values higher 128 kbs. Hope this helps...
