What HID's should I get?

Hello, i own a Nissan Maxima 2014S and I am looking to buy some HID head light bulbs. Anyone have any good recommendations on which ones are very good? Now I am looking for like a plasma white, not too blue. Just something strong and distinct from stock bulbs. Please feel free to leave links, names, or websites, thank you!

I like the 55w 5000k kit from innovited on Amazon. I've installed lots of kits over the years from ddm cheap $50 kits to really expensive Phillips OEM setups. Honesty the innovited kit is superior to most "cheap" kits and for all intents and purposes just as good as OEM kits but a hell of a lot cheaper. 55w kits push the color higher than rated visually. So if you are trying to match other bulbs buy a step warmer.

Here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00FC...rch&th=1&psc=1

Edit: I also use their 35w 3000k kit in my fogs and they are stellar for wet and icy weather.

And i would go with a 5000k color if you want to stay in the color white area.

brichi Feb 29, 2016 06:45 AM

you use the same all around even for fog lights? i think it would look dumb to just do the low beams and not fogs no?

dmcmahan12 Feb 29, 2016 07:06 AM

I just did the low beams with a quality HID kit then a yellow overlay on the fog lights.

brichi Feb 29, 2016 07:08 AM

gotcha, I'm thinking of doing them on all. just trying to see if i use the same kist for all 4

dmcmahan12 Feb 29, 2016 08:52 AM

Yes you can because the fogs are the same as the low beams. As in bulb type.

brichi Feb 29, 2016 08:52 AM

awesome! looking to do white, maybe a little into the blue color like 10,000 since the car is blue

brichi Feb 29, 2016 08:53 AM

Sorry to hijack the thread Robert, LOL

At least we have some good info

dmcmahan12 Feb 29, 2016 09:42 AM

10,000 will be blue or purple as all get out!

according to the chart 10,000 is blue

White with a slight bit of blue would be 6000K. Do not do any higher than 6000K.

+1. Unless you are going for the late '90's Honda Civic look then 10k is for you!

Also Opti7 is a cheap decent starting point for plug and play for your fogs. I had HID fogs in both my Max's since I had stock HID low beams and they were ok but a pain with the ballasts, etc. The LED plug and play I went with are CREE type lamps which you should look for. These are aesthetically driven so if you want good output from fogs stick with Halogen to be honest but these have been great for $30 a pair.

brichi Mar 1, 2016 10:12 AM

haha, thanks guys, ill stick 6000k

dmcmahan12 Mar 1, 2016 12:10 PM

See where I am from we have JACKTARD's with big four wheel drive tucks that run 10,000k HID's in a non projector housing blinding on coming traffic 10 miles ahead and don't care about the people they are doing it to. Please don't be that guy. LOL

anyone know a site where I can just buy the whole headlight with custom Halos or something already installed? The work involved in opening and resealing the unit looks pretty intense.

brichi Mar 6, 2016 05:40 PM

exledusa.com

Savage81 Mar 6, 2016 05:44 PM

Oh damn, $800
K thanks

brichi Mar 8, 2016 03:20 PM

hey guys, can i buy a kit like this

for all 4 lights, 2 low beams and 2 fog lights, i know you said the fog lights use the same bulb but is the physical size for them to snap in to all the same?

brichi Mar 8, 2016 04:18 PM

Would you share the promo code you used? $140 for both kits sounds like a good deal!

brichi Mar 21, 2016 05:10 AM

damn, i think it was 20save. I tried to use it per kit and it was $40 off total, then they emailed me and said it was for 1 purchase only so i had to send them $20, LOL

So it would be $160 for you if that code still works

So are you installing the kit yourself or taking it somewhere to have done?

brichi Mar 21, 2016 06:26 AM

I installed my own, its was easy, did all 4 in under 1.5 hours

That looks nice. Especially the red graffiti on the plate lol. So you had to open the headlight unit and reseal it correct? Videos I've seen of people doing that seem very difficult and risky (heat gun) did you actually have to go through all that trouble on your own? Props to you for doing that.

brichi Mar 21, 2016 07:49 AM

no, thats if you want to install HALO kits, HID conversion kits is just replacing your light bulb and adding a ballast between the original cable and the new bulb

the graffiti part was fun, i let my 5 year old draw out the plate, lol

Savage81 Mar 21, 2016 07:51 AM

Oh ok, thanks for clearing that up. Yeah that looks great! And simple enough to do.
