New to the CVT...Fluctuation Normal?

Hey all, new member as I just bought a 2014 SV. This is my first CVT, and I've done a search but was unable to find a definitive answer. I am at almost 59K on the clock, so if there is an issue I want to be able to get it addressed before warranty is up. This video was taken on a relatively flat surface, cruise control on, and it was a bit of a gusty day. My question is: is it normal for a frequent variation of about 200 rpm or so normal on these trannys? Thanks in advance!

If you have a throttle body code, you are covered up to 80k miles. Check dealer.

There is a few post on this... check some post I wrote about mid last year....

My 2011 behaves very similarly except the interval between fluctuations is longer. It always happens on the same roads going the same direction, at 72-74mph. A headwind will usually make it worse. I don't have any codes, so I think it's a certain set of parameters that make it behave that way. Like it's trying to decide between two programmed points and a gust of wind or little dip in the road forces it between the two. If it gets annoying I will hit the upshift paddle, then bump the gear selector over to manual (to keep it from going to 5M at 70mph if you just bump the selector over). And that holds the rpm's steady. Then I always forget about it and take off from the stop light 20 miles later in 1M and rev it to 5000. Probably not the answer you are looking for but I'm interested to know if there are other opinions out there.

Thanks for the replies. To confirm, if I am throwing an OBD code for the throttle body that is an extended warranty item? I will check, but due to the fact that it idles smooth I doubt that is an issue. Assuming no codes, looks like a normal condition with the ratios varying? I will be changing the fluid next month when the temps warm up, I'm sure it still has the factory fill. Not sure if that would help anything though.

Mine does the same thing. I only noticed it recently so I'm not sure how long its been doing it. The car runs perfect other than that so I'm assuming its normal. I did a drain and fill on the CVT at ~40k and I'm at 50k now, so the fluid shouldn't be the cause on mine anyway.
