Timing chain and service eng light

2009 maxima with 63 k miles. Service engine light continues to come on and dealer wants to replace timing chain and phaser. Already replaced fuel injector actuator based on same code.
They seem to be guessing on problem and $2,600 repair seems a bit much with this mileage. Any help would be appreciated.

The code is P0011. The recommendation from Auto Zone computer is to replace Camshaft Position Sensor.

I would take it to a non Nissan mechanic and get a second opinion before lay out that much cash. It could also be just dirty oil.

Possible causes: P0011
Low or Dirty Engine Oil
Faulty Intake Valve Timing Control Solenoid
Valve Intake Valve Timing Control Solenoid
Valve harness is open or shorted
Intake Valve Timing Control Solenoid
Valve circuit poor electrical connection
Faulty Camshaft Position Sensor
Camshaft Position Sensor harness is open or shorted
Camshaft Position Sensor circuit poor electrical connection
Faulty Crankshaft Position Sensor (POS)

Thanks. I am scheduling a 2nd opinion from a local mechanic. The dirty oil issue was raised early on as my daughter drove this car for about 10k miles and changed the oil twice with conventional 5w30. I was told a few weeks ago when I had the oil changed and put in the correct synthetic oil that the oil filter looked quite dirty and was very heavy. Do you think it would take multiple oil changes to clean things up? I also read that the oil control solenoid filter screen may need to be cleaned when oil is changed. Thoughts?

If your filter was dirty and heavy doubt it was ever changed on those two changes your daughter used the car. Before I would throw any more money at the problem wait for the other opinion from the mechanic.
