Power Steering Pump

First time poster who needs help. Noise coming from what sounds like the power steering pump. The noise is accentuated when trying to turn. The steering wheel is hard to turn at idle and very slow speeds but when more gas is given, steering dramatically improves. The noise has gotten progressively worse which is making the steering harder to the point I don't want to drive the car. Fluid level is full. Car is 2010 at 166,000 miles. From all indications, PSP is bad and needs to be replaced. I looked in the stickies but didn't see any write up (not unless I missed it). Is this something I can replace myself, and if so, is there a write up anywhere? Thanks!

It is a pain to work on but with patience you can get it done. I had to do it twice (the replacement pump was bad) and it doesn't get any easier the second time!

I have a subscription to alldatadiy.com and while it isn't the most concise guide ever, it gets you started.

Thanks so much for the reply. I did come across the diagram and instructions. Sounds fairly easy but I've been down that road many times before. What sounds easy ends up being a pain. Im going to tackle this over the weekend. Thanks again!
