2012 ac only works at 61 or below

Good morning guys I was hoping to get some help with the AC on our 2012. It seems as though it will only blow cold if you set the temp to 61 or 60. At 62 its like the AC isn't even on. It's lukewarm at 62 but freezing at 61. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this? Thanks for any help.

Does the heater act the same way (i.e. cant maintain a constant temp?) Easiest to try is to ensure the vent where the temp sensor is located (small grate or microphone looking thing on the dash) is clear of detritus. Try some dry compressed air (or can of compressed air used to blow out computers) and get rid of the cobwebs.

Next would be the mixer doors and motors. Good news, is it works. Bad, is you have to troubleshoot the mixing doors (if you are small and wiry, not too bad a job)

Holy cow that worked! The sensor wasnt too dirty but had some dust on it. Blew it out and it works great. Man thanks so much for the help. You saved me some money lol

This is an example of correct way in dealing with cooling issues... First try the easy fix, then if it works great.. if not move on to the dreaded under dash blend door actuators..lol

Excellent post!
