Antifreeze leak from bottom

I've an antifreeze leak coming from the bottom somewhere. Any clue to where it's coming from? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Let's see, it could be the radiator? The lower hose, oil cooler line. I mean come on Jack up the car get under there and look around! We can't possibly tell you where it's coming from just from your description. Clearly your leaking from somewhere now it's time to get under there and take a look around, or get it to a garage. I would say it's coming from the bottom.

^ this.

Do it fast. This member had an acute, catastrophic radiator failure that left him stranded when it overheated and blew, spewing radiator fluid throughout his engine bay. Ended up being a pinhole in the core.

Sure did! I'm a good example of it! Wasn't pretty! Blew an A/C compressor in the process from EVERYTHING getting wet! Got hit with a double whammy!

Unfortunately, Maximus is correct. I actually had to get some florescent dye and black light to find a small crack in the plastic manifold that connects the top hose, radiator cap, and overflow but that was my issue, yours is probably different. Could be lucky and just be the drain plug! But you are going to have to look around.

Same this happened to me today too I come out of Dunkin’ Donuts and my antifreeze was leaking everywhere

MaximusN8 09-29-2020 03:55 PM

That's a lot of coolant, was it your radiator?

Scoonie05 09-29-2020 03:55 PM

I found the problem. I had this problem a year ago and when I took it to Mavis they "allegedly" fixed it..... Come to find out it was the oil cooling line. It had a pinhole leak and Mavis welded it.. Guess where my antifreeze was leaking from again? Yup, u guessed from where they welded it at. Never again

Better to replace the line, not to expensive at all. I ordered it from the dealer I believe it was $40, easy fix took me 20 mins.

Any work done to the car is always the first place to look when something goes wrong. It's always something someone did!

There was nothing left, Everything drained out and I didn’t have tools or a jack with me only a 10 mm so I took the splash guard off. I can’t tell where it was coming from I tried to get a picture but it doesn’t show much

oil cooler line.

That's a real easy fix don't pay a mechanic, Jack it up, remove your splash shields, remove the clamps. Unbolt the 2 bolts that the line has securing it and that'll come right off, reassemble in the reverse order and your done.

Man, just seeing how rusted out the parts are under that car makes glad knowing that all the extra time I've taken to power wash my undercarriage in the winter has paid off. My undercarriage is basically rust free, and I check everything under the car every oil change to ensure nothing needs to be replaced.
