I'm hoping to snag a 2017 model at a discount by then, just hope there are still some pearl blue platinums still on the lot. I can't see spending 40k for a car no matter how good it is. I see some of you have got crazy good deals. I'm not a very good negotiator, if I can get OTD for less than 39k I'll be satisfied.

One question though, I'm planning to put about 30% down and finance the rest. I hate discussing financing at the dealership so I'm going to get my loan approved beforehand. Did any of you get good deals without financing through Nissan or is that always required?
If Nissan is offering all of the same incentives in October that are currently available now, you shouldn't pay more than $32K to $34K OTD. If you go for 0%, financing, than you will lose out on those cashback/dealer savings, and pay closer to $39K (depending on trade-in, and negotiating). Personally, I'd rather owe less on a vehicle with a low interest rate than owe a bank more money for a longer period of time, just so I can feel good about the 0%. That's just me. Plus, if a ninth generation Maxima comes out in 4 to 5 years, I want to owe next to nothing when I trade in my 8th gen. Good luck. You'll love this car. When negotiating, just remember...they can't say no, if you don't ask.

I'm about to pull the trigger on a Super Black/Charcoal Platinum here in Seattle, and was wondering what everyone thinks of the price. With the new incentives, I have gotten the dealer to agree to $6k "Back of Invoice", which totals out at $36,568 OTD. This is including 9.9% Washington/King County tax but not including title and licensing which might be a few hundred extra dollars (~$200, but not quite sure).

Is this a good deal? I have been aggressive with a few dealers, and this seems like the best I am going to get for this area.

If your price includes 9.9% tax (Wow, I thought it was bad here with 7.25%) you got about the same deal that I did, which was -$5000 off MSRP plus an additional $4000 off with Nissan incentives.

2017 platinum coulis red/charcoal with illuminated kick plates. MSRP $41, 650.

paid: $32300 + tax, title and license. The dealer processing fee of $685!!! And destination fee of $835 are included in the $32300 price.

Could have bought a silver platinum that the dealer listed for $31200 + TTL, Just liked the red color better. Best deal I could find anywhere in the dc metro area after visiting 4 different dealerships.

cowles nissan in Woodbridge, VA and included 2 free oil changes and wheel locks for "free".

great car, my first nissan, previously drove mostly BMWs, really glad I pulled the trigger on this car.

good luck to everyone!

I just purchased my 2017 Maxima SR Midnight Edition last week. I bought it as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle even though it had never been sold/tagged before (dealer car that the regional manager drove for 2k miles)

I got a 7 year 100k mile warranty with it for $30,500 OTD

It came with the sports floor mats and trunk mat as well as the illuminated kick plates and 11 speaker bose system (not sure if thats standard)

The next day I went online and purchased the OEM ground lighting kit and the all weather mats for interior/trunk.

Just inked the paper on a 2017 Platinum with 124 miles for $33,767. With WA taxes, it's $38,299.54 OTD

Haven't taken delivery or paid the cash yet, but I am concerned about the miles. Seems like it was a salesperson's DD (during the test drive there was crap in the center console, scuff marks on the kickplates and crud on the seats). I'm considering voiding the contract and getting a clean brand new one. Thoughts?

All these cars should have less than 17-18 miles on them. If there's around 30-40 that's fine due to test drives but if it's pushing 80 I would not bother and just have them give you a fresh one

I have a 2010 Maxima and am just beginning my research into buying a 2017 Platinum. I'm really glad I remembered that I had a membership to this site because, wow. Great price. I live in Fairfax and wasn't sure what a jump off point should be for negotiations. This helps a lot. I'll definitely be heading to Cowles in the next couple of months when I'm ready to pull the trigger.

Congrats on becoming part of the Nissan family.

Just an update to this. Actually convinced the dealer to void the contract and I will not be taking delivery. Between the miles, the cost (I didnt get an excellent deal), and the fact that it turns out the max is 2" longer than my garage, it made more sense to shelve this and look instead into buying a BMW 3 series for about the same price.

Considering everything, that's a solid price. The garage thing is unavoidable but I doubt you'd find a 328 for around that price with similar options to the platinum. 320 would be the way to go if you want that price and similar options

I bought a 2016 Nissan Maxima SR.
It has 400 miles/new.

Car: $27,800
Tax/Title/License: $1900
10 YR/Warranty: $2400

Total was $32,XXX

I don't think it was an amazing deal but I needed a car at the time. I kind of wish I got a platinum version with the moon roof and surround camera but this car was the least expensive.

That's a damn good deal! Is that Base or OTD? I'm about to pay $36k OTD and I thought I was getting a steal!

We are all very happy for you, but perhaps you can spare few more details about the deal. Is this a brand new car, or has miles on it? Which dealer?
Why is the price so low? Can another board member duplicate this deal?
thanks

I agree. I call total BS on this. There are a few other deals on here that are questionable as well. I think people want to exaggerate how good of a deal they got.

Yep, even 31,100 is very questionable. I'd like to see the purchase order. Maybe he had a trade?

Hey max, this was a new car w/ ~12 miles and yes I had a trade in.

Funny to see how fast people get upset/angry about a deal...I'm happy to provide some details as long as I am asked. The post asked what I paid OTD =/

It's kind of a pain to go into line-by-line detail...my alt dealer in the area was asking 28,500 w/ trade in.

w/o trade in it'd be like ~38k.

thanks for clarification, that explains the OTD price.
In order for posts to be truly beneficial (we are here to see what the best deal is after all), you have to compare car cost apples to apples. This is typically the price of car, exclusive of Tax, Title, Trade-in and Registration costs. The reason for this is sort of obvious. Different states have different tax rates making those costs locale dependent. Likewise with trade-in value, it only effects this particular car purchase and is not reflective of the actual cost of the new car.

I knew there had to be a trade. Now it's not such a great deal, being that there's a $3500 rebate they only gave you a $500 discount providing the car list price was 42k. None the less, it's a nice car enjoy it.
