Built a pearl white Platinum on USAA's car buying site (Truecar) with premium spoiler, external ground lighting, internal mood lighting, floormats, illuminated kickplates, and splashguards. Truecar estimate $39,562. I calculate the invoice at $38,901. Three dealers have contacted me to say they will honor that quote. Will be visiting them this week. And no one has heard about sales being suspended. I am in Massachusetts, by the way.
Including 825 destination fee ,my calculations give me an invoice price of 39,376 plus 395 for pearl white extra cost option. I do not know whether your calculations include the destination fee.
Does the Truecar estimate include the destination fee?

Well, I am 62 and feel exactly as you do Although this is my first Maxima. A few years ago i owned a Nissan Sentra that I bought for 900 dollars . It brings back good memories as the day after I bought it I played the number on the plate in the play 4 lottery and won 10,000. I kept it for 4 years and sold it for 900 dollars again. Not bad.
Well let me start by saying I live in Kentucky on post (Army). I purchased my SV in Tennessee. Since I'm military I payed no taxes on the car. So I traded in my 2013 Kia Optima SXL in which they gave me 20K for depreciation is a *****! I was upside down 3500, they tact that on the back end. So out the door I payed 39,350.

And make sure you get that price in writing as OUT THE DOOR price (except tax/title/license). TrueCar does not exclude doc fees, and dealer add ons - they can say sure, we'll honor that price, and when the car arrives add $2000 of "paint protectant" and "seat guard" crap....and oh yeah, that pin stripe!

I don't concur - I paid those others at the DMV weeks later. Brought in outside financing, too. It is elective whether to roll that in to a loan, pay on your own separately, etc, and thus don't consider that as being part of the price to drive the car I bought off their lot.
I went through Truecar and Edmunds seeking a 2016 Platinum Maxima in the Philadelphia area. Most places were offering MSRP or just a bit under.
I found one excellent dealership , and bought for this price:

I was thrilled with the price, and even more thrilled with the car. I was sad to leave behind my 2000 Maxima SE (15 years!), but happy with the purchase.
I paid exactly MSRP for my Platinum, suggested retail for all the accessories and delivery and received Blue Book trade-in value for my 13 Altima 3.5 SL. I feel I got a fair deal.
just saw the lowest price I have seen on a new maxima 29,000 in libertyville, Illinois. Havent seen anything even close to that anywhere else so far.

Yeah it was the base S model, I wont be buying until next spring but I am constantly watching prices and anything at all about them until then lol. it was just the sticker price so add in taxes and other fees looking at around 31k or so, but I completely agree with you I am 20 so this a big purchase for me but really confident in what I am getting for the price.
I just wanted to check stock in one of my local dealers in CT, it turns out they advertise internet price right there on the search page. It looks like they have some aggressive discounts going on, as Platinum trim $41095 msrp car is advertised for $37353.
On the other end of the spectrum I see the basic trim msrp $33645 advertised for $30409.
I am not in the market currently and don't work for the company either, but those of you who are looking may benefit by having local dealers match prices or deal with the CT dealer. I don't know what other gimmicks they may have included, there is a note on financing, so in order for the deal you may need to take their financing.

I got mine $33150 out the door, including the $1500 negative equity I had from trading in my 2013 Acura TSX. would've loved to buy the SV but I couldn't find a good enough price for it. Been shopping hectic for two weeks, but finally settled on a storm blue S! I wanted it for 32500 out the door, but it just wasn't possible with the negative equity.
Not bad tho! (I'm in MD btw). Tax went from ~$1800 to ~$800 by trading in.

I have previously owned 2 BMW 5series V8s (545 and 550), so I enjoy having a lot of power, etc. Before test driving the Maxima SR, that was my only question - would it be fun (enough) to drive. That question was answered easily in the test drive. I was "sold".
I bought from my local dealer (Nissan of Cool Springs, Franklin, TN) -- which is just 2 miles from Nissan NA HQ here outside Nashville. It's also just 30 miles or so from Smyrna, TN, where this Maxima was assembled, so that's cool too.
My window sticker is attached, showing options and MSRP. I went in showing them where I'd seen the SR I want in the region (ATL, etc.) for $3,000 off MSRP. So, they agreed to match and give me $3,000 off MSRP. It was also the last day of the month, so I sort of regret not pushing them harder, and asking for $4,000 off. But, alas, I'm happy with the deal I struck.
Really enjoying the ride so far, and I'm uber-excited about owning a quality Nissan with a full warranty (vs. a used BMW 5, where maintenance and repairs have been painful above 80k miles).

Great job HokieHaden sounds like a good deal. The Silver is beautiful. I hate to sound like a total Maxima fanboy, but Nissan did a great job with the colors on the Maxima this year. They all look fantastic.

Totally agree! That is why after 2 months, I am still torn between silver and gunmetal, as they all look awesome.
Just a heads up for anyone in the Nashville TN area Action Nissan is advertising good deals on the new maximas. They even have a blue platinum advertised for $37,607 which they are showing as $3488 off the MSRP price! They are offering deals on every 2016 maxima on their website. I haven't seen many dealers in the area offering the kind of deals they are!
3K off is not a good deal if you're paying 6% interest. I got 1.8% from my local bank.

For all previous generations prior to 8th, discounts $5K and even more was nothing unusual. I think will be no difference with 8th.gen. Maybe is little early after sales started, but I think before end of the year we will see around $28K + tax and fees for base S trim.
Ok, that makes sense. I'll wait to buy the Maxima for now under the condition that you're the one who tells my wife.
I don't think that $5k number runs with the spirit of the thread in order to make a judgement of what's a good deal or not. The car has only been out a short time and I'm sure the older the thread gets, the cheaper the cars will get. That's the way car sales go. By this time next year they'll be bleeding out the last of the '16 inventory so there will be some pretty good deals. ..if people are willing to wait until then. We can't wait and I haven't found anyone who has actually beat our price with any regularity. The Truecar website is saying that $35.5K is a good price. We're @ 33k otd. At this point, if we want a car now, that's what we have to pay.

With some models affected with the recall, to wait is wisdom. I feel like a kid that didn't pass the marshmallow test... I didn't wait at all. So i paid msrp on my SL, but couldn't even drive it due to the recall. Lol. It's been 11 days now and still waiting.. I was given a free '14 Altima rental. I've never had a Nissan before, so kinda refreshing. It lacks power compared to Maxima when I test drove it.
