Thought about changing to LED's for the fogs, but I like the ion yellow color for the fogs. Decided not mess with them with the many condensation issues, I decided to tint them with the vvivid auto vinyl. I really liked the way they turned out.
I ordered H11 LED Bulbs for the Fogs and have moisture issues. Returning them for H16 LEDs. I would imagine upgrading the fuse was for the person who did the HIDs in there.
The H11 bulbs you are now changing out to the H16 jdm Astar 1200 lumens they say they are at 90 degrees angled,i want them for my fogs,on my platinum,the ones on amazon are 26.99 is that for the pair or a piece? thanks,if you have good luck with them I will order a pair,and also from amazon the H11 HID kit for 69.00 for low beam.

Hi Max8 I figured that the 27 dollar price would end up being x 2 54 dollars,but as long as they shine out further into the road way,with the stock ones I now have,they shine out to the side ok,but not very far out front,the same reason I want HID low beams to replace the LED,my stock low beam shoots to close in to the car,and if I need to see very far out going down hill,i need high beams,did you change out low beams to HID?

Yes, I paid about $56 for the 4 fogs. And no, I didn't change the low beams. They are already LED.
Has there been any development on the condensation issues? I just took home my new platinum and already ordered the fog LED replacements. Did anyone have any luck with different installation techniques? Such as using the old seal or a separate sealant?
Also did anyone here use anything other than JDM Astars for the fogs? I'm definitely going to steer clear of those considering all the issues mentioned here.

I tried the Opt7 LEDs on Amazon but I returned them thinking they were causing the moisture issues.
i think the evaporation would need a way to escape though right? IDK..... Plus the bulbs are only like 19w each so I don't know how hot they really could get.

Honestly I haven't looked at the design a ton but someone mentioned earlier that there was some sort of vent cap? Just trying to figure out what the differences are between the two options. The engineer in me wants to know root cause, haha.
I have read different reviews on this forum about changing to LED Fog Lights. I decided to do some research and then do them myself. The dealer wanted to charge $169 for 1 hr of labor, I did it in 30 mins flat.

About the condensation issue, my car had some condensation before I changed out the bulbs, so I dont believe changing the bulbs is the issue. Make sure you get H16 bulbs

Hey freddy,you stated to get the h16 bulbs,but in your vid you said you installed the H11,what is the difference between the two,the info was the h16 had a 90 degree angle,so does the H11 also have that angle,and if one does not and the other has the angle,and you put the angled one in,how do they sit in the case,both pointed in same direction,and are they turned down to the right side or to the left side. your vid looked good,so I don't think it will be to bad to do,but am confused as to which bulbs to buy?

Just as an FYI, Diode Dynamics is currently working up a list of the lights available for our cars. They recently worked on a members car and the turnout was AMAZING! I will be waiting to buy all my lights from them. Look at thread: 16 Maxima SR Switchback DRL.

My main concern with the OPT7 LEDs and any LEDs for that matter is the throw. Apparently all LEDs even VLED, OPT7 and most other top of the line just don't get light far enough down the road because of the way they scatter light. I was going to go this route to avoid having to mount ballasts with HIDs but after all of the reviews I've read and all of the research I've done, I just can't find a single LED bulb that works well in the 2016 Maxima stock projection housings for low beams. Most everything I've seen is showing very bright for about 6 feet out then the light seems to drop of significantly beyond that.
I'm still concerned about how to install some HIDs properly including having to remove the bumper, etc but I think in the long run it will be worth it.
I currently have all HIDs installed in mine and I can tell you that you definitely do not need to remove the bumper to install.

I may, I love the performance on my wife's 2015 Durango idk if its the way the dodge projector housings are or what but sitting behind the steering wheel and looking down the road the throw is awesome. This isn't me reading reviews... This is me utilizing in real world conditions. To each his own.
I'll wait n see what diode dynamics comes out with. I'm in no rush at all.

I want that look! When I followed your link, the bulb fitment guide said these WILL NOT fit my 2016 Maxima. Am I not following the rest of the class here?

Yes, those are the exact bulbs I bought and from Amazon. The Amazon site says they don't fit the 2016 Maxima, but they do. And, like some others, I don't have any moisture issues, but I did have my dealer install them.
On my SL the low and high beam are regular bulbs. I forgot to ask when I bought it just assumed they were so yeah I changed out the low beams to and the fogs to leds and left the high beams alone.
Did they have moisture issues before you put in the JDM Astar bulbs?
I live in WA so there's always rain here.
I didn't have any moisture issues before I switched the fogs to JDM Astar LED Bulbs. Once I switched them I started having moisture issues. My car got into an accident and I got a new passenger fog lamb. No moisture as it was brand new lamp. I left the JDM bulbs in there and 1 week later I got moisture again.
I told Nissan about the moisture and they ended up ordering brand new set of fog lamps. I got those installed and currently I have OEM Halogen H16 bulb in the fog lamps. It's sunny here nowadays so can't really test it with rain and mositure, but I am pretty sure that there shouldn't be any issue.
Got the JDM Astar led's for my fog lights and had the dealer install them trying to avoid condensation issues. My driver side is covered in condensation and passenger side has a flickering bulb 2days after install. Going to stop at the dealer tomorrow and see what they can do.
Just wanted to make everyone aware of the JDM Astar led's. Took my car to the dealer this morning and they showed me water in the bulb connections. These bulbs do not have the same seal as the factory bulbs. I would not buy them or if you already did I would pull them out before the water gets in and messes with your harness.
Nissan is having issues with condensation in the factory fog lights. I got the JDM's and used the
o-rings off the factory fog lights and there is no condensation.

Install as most know was easy. I decided to take off the wheel and go in thru the wheel well. Couple of plastic push pins and six screws if i recall correctly.
Once your in there it is easy to deal with. Drivers side you can pull the bulb out while in the harness, passenger side was easier to unclip the harness first from both bulbs and then replace the bulbs and clip the harness back in place.
Definitely happy with the results. Install took about an hour.

They look great!!! Can you take a pictures at night to see how they look? And would you say its a close match to the led headlights?
