SanDisk Device

Loving my SR but not having all the music is getting frustrating. I've got a 16gb Sandisk with roughly 5 gb loaded with 1100 mp3 files. However, I'm only getting access to roughly 250 of those from the A - D song files in my car. How do I get all the music files to show up on my car audio system? My laptop recognizes all of the files but the car doesn't. Thanks in advance.

I'm assuming this is plugged into the USB port? What about your phone device? Are you able to transfer your music to your phone and try it that way? The car may have a limitation as to how many files it can read as part of its file system. It may be capped at 250. You may want to contact NissanConnect support at 1-855-426-6628...They are pretty helpful and may be able to answer that for you.

Interested in this as well..... I was just looking into loading my music onto my flash drive too.

I have close to 5,000 songs in mp3 format in 387 folders on a USB flash drive and mine reads and plays all of them The '16 Max, like my '13 Altima will handle 512 folders.

Yes, the USB port. My phone works fine with all the files I have on it. I would hope there is no limitation bc that makes using a mass storage device moot. I don't want to have to carry multiple devices to listen to all my files. I will definitely call them for an inquiry. Thanks...

Check the codec used to make the mp3 files...??

I guess the problem is solved. I just made 13 folders(A-B..etc) and now I have all my 80's and 90's files displaying correctly.

Thanks for the follow up. I'm running 4 Gigs of songs off the root directory with no folders and it seems to be working. I do think reorganizing into folders might be an easier way to access particular songs though.

There is a major problem with doing that. The "standard" way to organize music is to have a folder for each artist and then sub-folders in each, one for each "album" or CD for that artist, containing the music files.

My '13 Altima saw this folder structure just fine, so I could scroll through the artists, select one, then select the particular album and then the song.

My '16 Max only sees the folders that actually contain music files, so I lost my artist list. It is kind of worthless having a list of 50 albums all called "Greatest Hits". I eventually ended up getting rid of the artist folders and renamed all the album folders with the artist name first. Example: Beatles- Help.

I currently have 386 folders. Both the Altima and Maxima will handle 512 folders where almost all replacement stereos will only handle 256 folders. (Let me know if you find one that will handle more because my 350Z desperately needs one!)

That's a real creative way to work around the album issue. I will give that a try since it looks like a better way to find songs. Thanks!
