Loose driver's seat

I have had my 2016 Maxima for a few days. I noticed when stopping at intersections the seat back moves a bit and then again when I start up again. I brought it into the dealer today and they noticed it as well. They are calling Nissan to see what to do. The foreman said there is a possibility they may have to talk the car back and give me another one.

Replacing a brand new car for this seems extreme to me, but the foreman said it - I never suggested anything of the sort (was the last think I would have expected to hear him say). I figured it was just an adjustment or at most, a part to be replaced.

Has anyone else experienced a similar issue and if so, did it get fixed?

There has been no fix yet.

I had this problem when I first purchased the the SL a year ago. Strangely it went away on its own. My guess is it might have to do with a minor adjustment I made in the seat tilt alignment.

I thought it was result of all that torque in the front wheels.

For whatever reason, I decided to adjust the lumbar support on my seat by decreasing it a little today. What I noticed was that afterwards, the issue of the loose seat seemed to be gone. I'll need to see if it remains that way, but it is interesting if that is the way to fix this. I even adjusted the lumbar back to approximate the old setting and the seat still seemed fine. So for those of you having this issue, see if this helps.

Take it

I'd take the new car in a heartbeat. Not only does my driver seat rock but the padding on the seat has withered away. Not comfortable at all.

They're ordering me a new seat to install. Hopefully that will do the trick (although an even swap for 2017 would be awesome, although I suppose not realistic).

Does everyone still have problems with the rocking seat? I sure still do.

I'm actually sitting in a waiting area now. I had no issues until a few weeks ago, and then I started feeling the slight rock. Dealer ordered a new seat frame and will be replacing it tomorrow, and we'll see how that goes. 2016, 13 months old, 10,500 miles.

thought it adds 10 hp when you brake or accelerate... feeling only though... hehe

I believe I was the first one to post this problem and yes I still have it. Although it seems that depending how the seat is adjusted it is less noticeable..
