Replacement tires for Platinum (18")

Hey folks - has anyone done a direct-replacement for tires on the 18" wheels?

I'm not especially happy with the Continental ProContact, and was looking at better tires.

Just want to see what experience people have... Bridgestone/Michelin/etc.

Not "in general", but actually "on the Maxima".

I replaced my Conti's at 700 miles with Michelin Premier A/S. Reasonably happy so far.

What did you dislike about your tires?

I do get a little road noise with my Contis, but these are the first tires I have ever driven that have always stayed in perfect balance and without the slightest hint of vibration at triple digit speeds. And that situation has been true for a year now.

The goodyears on the sport package 7th gen caused me problems every single year (and were not cheap either) I'm hoping these pro contacts are better.

I've owned Goodyear Excellence and RSA (both run-flat Y/Z-rated summer tires) and couldn't wait to rip them off.

The Contis are better, but are tuned for comfort, not sport.

There are some really good, high-mileage tires available for the Maxima at great prices ($149 or less). I paid $400/each for my BMW tires from Discount Tire... Yuk.

Best experience for summer tires = Michelin Primacy/Pilot Sport and Bridgestone Potenza RE70 (surprising compared to my absolute garbage Turanza EL42).
