Don't Fear the Dip

I typically don't post too much here, but I thought I would share the outcome of my little project. I typically don't mod my cars much anymore, family and work and such, and there just isn't enough time...or money.

Anyway, I have been thinking about changing the wheels on my 16 SR for a while but couldn't really decide on any. Three cars ago I refinished the factory wheels via powder coating, on my Altima, so I though that may be the way to go on my SR. Long story short, I went the cheap route just to see what they would look like, and picked up a kit from a local distributor and installer for Dip Your Car.. I went with the Hyper Black kit, I didn't want the standard black like the Midnight editions. The Hyper black is virtually the same color as the inside of the factory SR 19's. This consisted of 4 coats of black and two coats of the hyper black pearl. This stuff is super easy to use and very forgiving. I must say I am extremely impressed with the product, and how they turned out. Instead to using their top coat product after the dip, I used Turtle wax ICE spray on wax. Gave the Dip a nice protective layer, and the dip is nice and slick now.

So if you are considering trying the stuff out, I highly recommend it. It took about three hours total, and that was cleaning and removing the wheels.

Here are a few shots, sorry crappy cell phones pics.
