Has anyone removed their exhaust resonator?

Hello everyone,

Has anyone removed their exhaust resonator or mufflers, and kept the rest of the exhaust stock on their 8th gen? If so, can you post a vid so I can hear what it sounds like? I'm thinking of deleting one or the other on mine, but I want to make sure it would be worth it. I want a bit more of an aggressive sound, but nothing that will drone or be annoyingly loud. I just want it to be a little more aggressive when I get on it... And I don't want to do a whole custom exhaust.

Thanks

I did a resonator delete on my 17. Heres a small clip of the sound.

In my opinion it's loud enough, and you really hear it in the cabin and when turning it on. Here's some clips of others who have done it as well.

Because de obnoxious noise, I would not recommend it.
When I owned my former 2010 Altima SR (same engine than Maxima´s), someone in the Altima Forum recommended to me a 21 inch resonator, and I was happy with it....after a while, I installed a Nismo cat back....and I was happiest with the exhaust sound....

Is it ever too loud? Like, if you just want to cruise, is it ever annoying? Or does it drone at all?

When you say obnoxious noise, at what times was it obnoxious? If you just wanted to cruise and didn't drive hard, was it still very loud?

Loud to cruise, after 5 blocks or less.....annoying
Obnoxious to ride in the highway......umbearable

Just get the Stillen axle back exhaust and install that..it will be loud enough in the cabin and you won't have too sacrifice cutting your resonator out

Only problem is, finances are what made me think of going the cheap route in the first place. Stillen looks great, but it's just not feesable for me right now. I guess I'll have to wait until something like that is more within reach for me financially

If you drive with the radio off you do hear a little drone, very little though.

I actually just deleted my resonator on Saturday and I love it. Opens it up for a good growl but nothing annoying. Drove to wrk on freeway this morning and no drone at all. Cruising around town you hear it when you accelerate. To me its perfect. I wouldn't spend $500 on stillin exhaust when $90 takes off the resonator. The guy said our cars have great flowing mufflers deleting the resonator will free up the exhaust too.

Thank you for your input. Can you please take a vid from inside the car with you driving normally, with the windows up, and then down? Thank you

Well put. The noise sounds like a cow constantly "mooing" which combined with a CVT gives you a Bovine mobile! I'd leave well enough alone as the Max sounds just ride as is.

Can you post a couple vids for me? Exterior and interior with normal driving?

No resonator

35 bucks, they took the resonator off, put in a 2.5 pipe...all done.
Sounds good and no feedback...just a nice woooommmmpp when you accelerate. Worth it for me.. Again, everyone has a different noise they desire.
