Anyone actually find the cause of the rattling?

I have a '17 Platinum with nothing but issues so far. Moonroof stuck open which needed a new motor. Check engine light which turned out to be nothing according to the dealer. Ticking noise from the steering wheel for which a steering wheel has been ordered. I am also hearing a rattling from the passenger side which I think is coming from near the seat belt.

Anyone actually figure out where it's coming from and how to fix it? When I went on a test drive with the dealer, it of course didn't rattle once.

Gawd I've read about all the troubles you've had in other threads. I dunno, frankly I think I would have thrown in the towel and got a different brand car by now. Seems like this rattle issue is plaguing lots of folks here. I wish you luck on getting these issues resolved.

I suppose if engine and tranny hold up at least, most of these other annoyances can be solved with a little patience.

Edit: Here is a new video where I cleaned up the audio a lot and it's very easy to hear the rattling:
Going to show this to the dealer because I know it's never going to rattle during test drives.

since you cant hear the rattle when in use maybe its your seatbelt latch rattling on the pillar. Make a new sound clip, this time turn off the sound. Or it could be a rattle inside the seat and when it's sat on the rattle stops.

I still have the rattle when someone is in the passenger seat. It just decided not to rattle at all when I went on a test drive with t dealership. What do you mean by make a new sound clip with the sound off?

I was talking about the booming sound in the clip, as that is all I hear, definatly not a rattle. It sounds like the clip was recorded with the sub woofer in your car turned on.

No, my volume was muted. That booming noise is just my car going over bumps. As I said, it's very hard to hear to rattle on a computer. If you watch that video on your cell phone, you will hear the rattle clearly.

I can't hear it in your video, but am glad you posted. I have a rattle / flapping noise in the passenger side door of my "S" model. It is not always there, seems to be dependent on outside wind or cross winds maybe.

Hard to tell if it is coming from the rear passenger or the front seatbelt area.

I tried cleaning up the audio a bit and the booming seems to be reduced making the rattle easier to hear. If you have headphones, it might be easier to hear through that. You can really hear it around 4 seconds:

Its a Nissan, a brand not at all known for high quality fit and finish. If you want a quality built vehicle get a Mercedes or BMW.

Get out of here with that bull****. I had a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder, 2010 Nissan Maxima, 2012 Nissan Altima, 2014, Nissan 370z, 2015 Nissan Altima with no issues. You really think this is normal for a brand new car? Since when is Nissan a brand "not known for high quality and finish?" Do you have a source on that besides your own opinion?

Dropped my car off this morning for the rattle and to get my steering wheel replaced. Apparently it was coming from the passenger side seat belt housing. Hopefully the rattle is gone now.

So they ended up "fixing" it after my previous post back in June. Rattling started back up almost instantly. Took it back in, they kept it for almost a week and said the rattling was gone. Got it back and it started rattling almost instantly again. Took it in a third time and took the service manager and one of the techs on a test drive with me. Luckily it was one of those days where it decided to rattle a lot and pretty loudly. I think it is finally fixed. It appears the sound was coming from the outside. Apparently it was a loose rocker panel. Here's the paperwork detailing what was done. Hopefully this helps someone else get their rattle fixed (ignore that first steering wheel part, they didn't align the wheel properly when they replaced the steering wheel):

Viper786, Thank you so much... mine was the rocker panel... I could wiggle it and hear it... went to the drivers side and wiggled... it made the sound appear on that side...

I had some 1/8" neoprene from an aquarium project. I cut some washers... Installed the neoprene washer between the body and the Rocker. 4 washers per side. I am sure you could purchase them at the hardware store. The 1/8" simply took up the slack that the plastic retaining clips did not.

Much easier to cut the center out of http://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-...5738/204276387 - the center just needs to be big enough to allow the retaining clip to fit. the outside diameter really doesn't matter.

I finally found the rattling on my passenger side it was coming from the plastic plate behind the door latch that covers the screw that holds the door on so I just popped them off put some double stick tape on the backside and then popped them back on I also did the ones inside the door grab the all better now
