Navigation/infotainment software update

My apologies if others have posted, but I searched and couldn't find anything.

Has anyone had the navi/infotainment system flashed/updated?

My 2016 Maxima Platinum system is a ton slower than my 2015 Pathfinder Platinum (which obviously uses the older-gen system), and has all of the similar issues to other owners (caller ID not showing, etc.).

So generally speaking, people have NOT received a firmware/software update yet?

"Looking for" and "getting" are two different things.

I'm looking for a flying unicorn but still haven't found one of those.

My BMW 535i, on the other hand, has received four firmware updates (some easier to gain approval from BMW DE than others...).

No one has publicly stated that they have received an update for the Infotainment system. If Nissan won't even do a firmware update for Carplay, not sure they would even care about updating the Infotainment system through a simple SD Card update.

Carplay is a much bigger enhancement than people think (yes, I understand that the model/software number looks similar, and yes, I understand that Hyundia-Kia, GM (or Ford?) and Honda are doing it).

But more simple performance/code enhancements - to overcome lag and fix the asinine caller ID issue - are doable. Heck, I'm just looking with performance and feature "par" with my 2015 Pathfinder and 2009 GT-R (which incidentally both use the same older system).

Does anyone know how to "search" the XM channels vs. scroll through the saved favorites only? This nissan connect system is awesome but its def a little complicated.

Just turn the right radio **** and it will start scrolling through the stations one at a time.

Interesting. I did not know that. I just assumed most places within 60 degrees or so of the equator had access to satellites.

If you are still subscribed, you may need to refresh the signal to your vehicle. Just park your car outside and then send a signal refresh to your Maxima. If that doesn't work in 10 minutes, then call XM.

Can you stream from your phone?

Even thought I have a $100 credit (from my old car), I only have XM on my Pathfinder.

The audio quality of SiriusXM-over-cellular blows away satellite beamed music.

Yeah, the user experience is different, but audio is great - and it shows artist/song in the gauge cluster plus album art in the navi screen.

Yeah I can, but all the sirius XM apps in the car will not work that way. Just for the radio. Probably not very useful anyways, but just kind of unfortunate that it seems to be a big part of the system and it's not avaliable

I gave up on the Nissan Connected "apps" (delivered by SiriusXM). $300/year (or whatever) isn't worth the hassle and multiple phone calls to re-enable the system on a weekly basis.

Has anyone had any progress on this yet? I find it hard to believe there is some internal hardware changes on the 2017+ that would prevent the 2016 cars from being able get get carplay. I cant find a firmware update on the Maxima, I see it for a few other models and older models but nothing mentioned for the new maxima aside from the map update.

My car is at the dealer now. It has gotten a ton worse.

Next step is a legal letter to Nissan.

I’m done.
