Need Help - 2017 Maxima won’t start

I have a 2017 Maxima with about 3K miles on it. Went to try to start this morning and the first message I got was that the car did not recognize my key. Try opening and closing the door and getting in and out of the car and that didn’t work. I didn’t try the ignition again and I heard some noises and the headlights and blue highbeam indicator started flashing on and off it’s sort of a signal. It seem like there was some pattern to the flashing. Now, the car is completely dead and nothing happens. I can’t even lock the doors.

I am hoping this is no more than a dead battery although I’m not sure how that happened. But any thoughts on whether this is more substantial than that would be appreciated. I do not have access to a job so I’m waiting on roadside assistance to show up.

Thank you for any thoughts.

like you already thought, thecar batt is most likely the culprit.
unusual for a new car, though.
good luck.

Thanks. Hopefully that’s the case. Waiting on Roadside Assistance.

It was a dead battery. With only about 3600 miles in the car do I need to replace the battery or should this one be ok?Thanks.

Something made your battery die. Better find that reason first. Your car is fully warranted, let the dealership find and fix the reason. If it is the battery they will replace it on a prorated basis of age or just give you a new one since it is so new.

On my old car, (not a Maxima), I pressed the eject button to get out my CD... but it didn't come out. The next day I went to start my car and it was dead. Turns out, it can be just about anything
