Passenger side front bumper. It was not like that before and flush just like the other side. Maybe I am being to picky? First picture is on the left front driver side second picture is right front passenger side. Just wondering if its going to get worse over time. What do ya guys think? Car is coming up on its first year of ownership.

is there play in the bumper? if so maybe a clip or fastener has come loose and can be reinstalled or tightened to close up the gap.

Same with my 2016 max and many max owners has the same issue.

For me I'm fine and still didn't fix it permanently, I just push it in every time I see the gap and it lasts for couple of days or weeks lool

I wonder if you got lightly tapped in a parallel parking spot. Would'nt take much to do this.

Ah please don't say that! You could be right though, I am not sure myself. :( I did come across the other thread about this possible issue here. https://maxima.org/forums/8th-genera...gap-issue.html

I did feel and see a little bit of play. I think its a faulty clip maybe. I can see one of the clips.... Next oil change coming up I will bring it to the dealers attention and see what they say.

FattiesGoneWild 08-29-2018 05:02 PM

They did not seem to concerned with it tbh. They did offer to fix it under warranty with their body shop if I wanted them to do it. I live 25 miles out from this dealer so I said please note it in their system. If it gets worse, I will go with the repair. I THINK it might have got worse. I am going to go take a picture and post it here for you guys can tell me what ya think. I can see what looks to be a white clip. I will edit the post with the picture.

**EDIT**

I see a couple of clips that are out.

Service manager now has to see it and send pics I guess to Nissan for approval. Since I am 25 miles out from the dealer and have an oil change coming up soon. I will take care of it then.

Thanks for keeping us posted. Definitely, a gradual worsening so they should fix it but be prepared for a couple of "fishing" questions about bumper contacts while parking etc. Do you do a lot of Interstate driving?

FattiesGoneWild 08-31-2018 07:08 PM

They can fish but I will be nice and firm about it. You can run your finger across and its perfectly lined up still. Seeing a select few that have had this issue. I believe I just got unlucky with a worker on the line not securing it properly or faulty clip. Interstate driving I don't do to much of it but just enough imo if that makes sense.

No body shop needed. Dealer dug deeper and found a screw that was a bit loose. It looks much better now. Happy camper. Service manager was honest with me and said Nissan would have denied the claim. As long as it sits flush being straight. Its in spec per Nissan.

That is great news! Nice to find a dealer who sees the big picture and finds a way to make the fix. I imagine that misalignment made your jaws tight every time you looked at it.
